has anyone forgotten about the active volcanoes that pump carbon dioxide into our atmosphere...just sayin:smile:
if it wasn't for water vapor billions of tons of CO2 would reach our ozone but water vapor only allows millions of tons of CO2 to reach our ozone...wowindifferent
also someone mentioned about solar flares from the sun i believe that to could have some effect after all those millions of years slamming into our planet,it could have some effect:smile:
but with all this i typed i believe we shouldn't throw gas on the fire..there is nothing wrong with being enviromentally safe:smile:

This has been the coldest, most snowiest winter I can remember, and I can remember three or four of them. As far as I'm concerned, global warming can't get here soon enough.

*joins Lex here* lol, turn up the heat!

It hasn't been that cold this year.....heck its 69 degrees right now, just wish the sun was shining.

I teach my child to recycle and not litter and conserve energy in the house. We are planting a tree and I'm teaching what trees do to help the environment.

Has anyone actually noticed that the fear mongers have, for the most part, stopped calling it Global Warming and are now using the term Climate Change??

After all the studies and research done that pretty much debunked the whole Global Warming issue, a switch to Climate Change was quietly done. The switch isn't complete yet, but they are working on it.

Even so, around the Great lakes, we actually appreciate the change in the climate. More snow, more rain. We have needed it for quite a while. The water levels in the Great lakes have been getting lower for a long time. All the rain and snow over the last couple of years has helped bring the levels back up. The levels still aren't where they really need to be, but it's getting a little better.

AL Gore's "Inconvenient Truth"

was nothing of the sort. It has been proven that the studies that were used to back "Inconvenient Truth" were skewed to meet a pre-drawn conclusion. Nothing scientific about them.

Inflammatory Statements...........Inflammatory statements and personal attacks are two of the most common causes of conflict escalation. When people attack other people verbally, ...taken from google search...

i don't think anyone was attacking anyone. just expressing their opinion.
if ya don't believe in global warming, so what. if you do, so what.
jesus mary and joseph...

we have been having very mild weather in washington state, due to global warming the scientists said. now, we had snow as of 2 days ago, and it has been colder than hell. so what is that? i think a reverse of global warming, and if u tell me there aren't enough gas farts....to melt the snow, i am going to have issues with you.

and so far mt. rainer, in wa, has not erupted, but they think it is alive so there. what is that .....global warming. and if it erupts, we will all be in deep kimchee. so what do u all think about that....

hey let us change the subject.
what do u all think about stem cell research, and what should they do with all the embryos in deep storage.
what if they throw them out?
what if they can't find the parents?
when does a life become a life. after u boink and get pregnant or fertilize? what do ya think?pitchfork

There is a growing number of scientists and climatologists who have spoken out about the "myth" or the "hoax" of global warming. Last I heard there were 695 just in this country, and over 2000 worldwide.

That National Geographic article linked here is over 5 years old.

right. Can you be little specific.

Specifically, why should I believe information from a 5 year old article?

Right now, every bit of information out there concerning global warming is nothing more than a "theory".

AL Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" is one such theory, and the connection to the sunspot cycles is another that has been revoling around for more than a decade in the scientific world.

So, no, I don't buy into it if the National Geographic says it exists, or when Newsweek published an article 30 years ago saying it exists.

I tend to believe the theory of the sunspot cycle. The hypothesis that the sunspots are cyclical and the weather patterns ever since man has begun cataloging the weather, are cyclical are evidence enough that both are in a revolving and turning cycle.

When the Newsweek article come out in 1979, we were at a sunspot maximum and earth temperatures rose. Now we're at a minimum, and places like London, England that don't typically see a whole lot of snow, got a lot of snow this past winter. Even Rome, Italy saw an unusual amount of snow. Here in the US, New Orleans had snow for the first time in decades, and places like Raleigh and Charlotte, NC received snow for the first time in a long time, while out in the heavens, the sunspot number is at a minimum.

he was asking you to be specific as to where you got your numbers and facts.

so just out of curiosity... i'll re-ask in another way...

where are you getting all of your numbers, facts, dates and information?

site please.

thanks! :)

ps not picking, i'm just a huge reader.

I guess I am an informed reader, more specifically an informed news reader. I read everything from the New York Times on the left to the Washington Times on the right. I frequent sites from Huffington Post on the left to Townhall.com on the right. My interests are politics and science (which includes tracking the weather).

Buy a snow machine. You'll have just about as much impact with that as anything else you do.

And yet....Global Warming is something that cannot be " prevented ".

The Earth warms up...the Earth cools down. Anyone remember the 70's and early 80's when " Global Cooling" was going to destroy us all???

Anyone remember the " Y2K " bug that would shut down all the computers in the world????

Keeping us in a state of fear is the best way for the powers that be to keep us malleable to whatever it is that they want to do.

Not likely. There's currently a high pressure system over central New York. Skies across the state range from clear to partly cloudy.
