I clearly used the word " prevention' it implies here for something which is heading towards us but not yet affected us. I would have used the words like
alleviate, correct, ease, heal, help, mend, rehabilitate, relieve, remedy, restore, if it would be existing.

to prevent global warming ?

When I purchased a new A/C for my house, I bought one that used Puron refrigerant instead of Freon and it wasn't the law yet. I bought an energy efficient furnace.

I turn off lights that I'm not using. I've bought some CFL bulbs. I recycle newspapers and soda cans and take the plastic grocery bags back to the store. I'm also planting a tree in front of my house.

There is a growing number of scientists and climatologists who have spoken out about the "myth" or the "hoax" of global warming. Last I heard there were 695 just in this country, and over 2000 worldwide.

That National Geographic article linked here is over 5 years old.

Therapy....

No article in the world is going to convince me that all of the world agrees global warming exists.

I said nothing about if I believe it exists.

Your question was presumptive and inflammatory.

I don't see how that is inflammatory.

FWIW, I ain't changing my lifestyle for anyone, even Al Gore. I ain't buying those curly-Q light bulbs, I ain't turning my computer off at night, I ain't turning my thermostat down, I ain't buying some of Al Gore's carbon credits, and I ain't driving a hybrid.

Geez...alot of people spoiling for a fight over this topic.

My question is...what could it possibly hurt to try to be more responsible (environmentally) in our own neighborhoods?

I myself end up doing quite a bit being in the bottled water industry.....especially after the crap press that bottled water recieved last year.

Traded in my truck for a tiny lil car....I am fine with it. I just think it is retarded to use a 4,500 pound vehicle to take one person to run errands when something half the weight will do the same job.

Half the weight...far less fuel consumed.

I've read recent studies that the rise and fall of the earth's temperature has more to do with the sunspot cycles than anything man has ever created.

What?????There are a crapload of stupid and pointless posts in here already.

Therapy and I are not arguing. We are discussing the topic. There are not any hard feelings between he and I. If readers think otherwise, that is their problem.

I take this sentence without the first line.laugh

Apparently....there is a lot of people not doing a damned thing (with the exception of holding in thier farts).

Myth or truth...who really cares? I personally do what I can to keep my neck of the woods in as good a shape as I can for future generations.....

Now....back to bickering about things that not a single soul on this sight can prove or disprove.
