I am not one to put my personal business on here. But...I'm trying to figure out this guy.

My child was sick. He stayed with my child and watched TV with them while I went to the grocery store. It was dark, cold, and raining.

I came back from the store and asked him if he would help carry the groceries into the house. I had already made a trip. Btw, I have a bunch of steps out front. He stood in the door and asked, "Well, aren't you going to help?"

I told him that while he was watching TV, I was loading the car up with groceries while holding an umbrella in the rain and cold and dark. Couldn't he help bring the groceries in? He said that when someone asks for help, that means that he's helping them and not doing it all.

Another time he was getting to broil a steak. I have a new stove and the broiler pan was dusty. He stood by the sink and as I walked into the kitchen, he asked if I would wash it. I asked him if the sink was too far from him. He washed it.

This week he watched my child while I went somewhere for an hour. I was running late. I made dinner, feed them and flew out the door. When I came back I saw that the remaining food was still on the stove. I asked him why he didn't put the food in the refrigerator. He said that I didn't ask him to do that. He then said, "Well, you ate too."

He thinks my child doesn't need to wear a bike helmet when riding the new adult sized bike they got for Christmas. Said my child didn't need it to ride on the sidewalk of my street but would need it if riding around the park. I want my child to wear it all of the time. I just put this in here to show how he thinks.

Sorry it's so long.ohwell

I'd say if it's your kid then what you want goes. If you want them to wear a helmet all the time they should no matter what this guys thinks. As far as helping out...I agree. He sounds a little lazy. I don't see why guys can't help out around the house even without being asked...that's just me.

OMG sounds like my ex-husband.....RUN!! sorry sweetie but just be careful!! Its one thing to ask for a little help now and then but sometimes guys are just blind to it! I bet he would never guess that it would mean more to you that he just did things WITHOUT having to be asked!!!

how bout you confront him about it and give him an ultimatium the fact that your on mingle2 telling us so openly tells me that you obviously have thought about it to great detail and know what you want to say. so be forward and tell them how you feel. communication helps any relationship

Not only does he seem lazy, but it sounds like he lacks initiative or real appreciation for the cooking and shopping.

Not exactly a winner, IMO...

If he got away with it once before he may now think he can get away with it again and again. Voice your concerns with him on neutral grounds, or when he does help out with little things def tell him and maybe SHOW him how thankful and even sexy it is that you see him do that. He may do it more often knowing how it "turns you on a little" Ha ha. Works for me, winkwink.

I don't know if the child you speak of is both of yours or not, but if not.. your rules go (about the helmet). The other things you could live with, but it is annoying. Not taking your child safety in mind AT ALL TIMES is a No-No.

From what Ive read it sounds like youre not getting the gentlemen you deserve. Dont waste your pumpkin/banana bread on him.

It doesnt seem like the kind of relationship where he can tell you how to raise your children either, be careful.

Im no child but my helmet has saved me on a couple of occasions mountain biking and road cycling.

Good Luck. happy
