I'm outta here....
But, leaving with this... It's NOT ALL about believing IN GOD, it's about believing WHAT HE SAYS -- He stands by His promises. He doesn't want the disobedient around him, He wants those who WILL OBEY Him. The Heavens and Earth belong to Him alone.... He can do with them how He chooses, for He has NO ONE to answer to but Himself..... He has chosen to spare us, by allowing His ONLY SON to be SACRIFICED. Then returning life to Him, finally taking HIS SON up in body to sit on the place of greatest honor... GOD's Right Hand. This came from obedience from The Father.... Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and to this day, mankind hasn't learned how to use it, and never will on it's own.

I think that he was a little more afraid of God than the idiots outside his door, but I also think that he had his priorities all wrong. I don't remember it saying he was righteous, but Abraham did ask God to spare the city etc... I think he was saved as a favor to Abraham. Yes he is called "righteous" in the story. I would have to look it up though to find the exact passage. Thats what people are always complaining about. The fact that god considers him a swell dude even after he offered his two virgin daughters to an angry mob that had collected outside of his home. So I dont think we have to go digging up the passage unless you just dont believe it and then I will find it for you. Let me know. |

I know, I know, its probably been done. But since its Christmas time and all....Lot refuses to give up his angels to the perverted mob, offering his two "virgin daughters" instead. He tells the bunch of angel rapers to "do unto them {his daughters} as is good in your eyes." This is the same man that is called "just" and "righteous". How do folks feel about this? 
It's a sad time when someone can't give their daighters to an angry mob with rape and death on their minds. I mean just last week I......well that a whole diffrent thred. |

God didn't tell Lot
to do what he did. That was Lot's doing. Despites man's shortcomings and messed up ways, God still loves us all...and wants to save us all... just like God tried to save even Sodom and Gomorrah ,......but they wouldn't listen. Yet God loves all people..... including messed up imperfect people... which we all are....and God wants to save us all...and is reaching out to all man....still.

Some men have no problem with these issues as it relates to the typical treatment of women in the scripture because they are simply insensitive to it and it doesn't effect them. They are male and men take center stage throughout the bible.

A couple guys on the thread even mentioned their distaste for it. I think men that generally have a caring or protective nature dont like the abuses of women in the bible.

I know. Im just kidding myself. Then god goes and kills every man woman and child and infant in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by pouring hot sulfur on them or something from the sky. Nice.
