You are one of the people who have taught me that I did not have to meet you face to face, to consider you "familia".

Christmas Blessings to you and your loving family, especially those grandchildren!!

I've never heard of someone having class when they wear ripped jeans. I've never heard of someone wearing jeans and having class.

Behavior is a small fraction I think even though the dictionary says and behavior.
I'm so sorry to hear that you've been hanging around all the wrong people. If your friends have to put a suit and tie on to remind themselves how to behave and treat others, then they have only been trained how to "act" like they have class.

I've known many people in my life, who lived monogrammed lives but that don't exude the weakest link of anything close to class. I have also known people that somehow, while living in torn jeans, display outstanding life etiquette on a daily basis as natural as instinct itself.

Being born into a "class", does not guarantee a person will inherit CLASS. It's like dressing for dinner...it doesn't make you nice, it simply makes you look nice. Nice comes from within, as does Class. flowerforyou

It's got nothing to do with friends, it has everything to do with family. My friends don't come from the upper echelon, my family does.

Sitting down to dinner with the governor... I don't see how a governor compares to to a billionaire. I mean they're elected officials and do impose laws on citizens and are in the spotlight and possibly national spotlight but I'm not so positive that every governor has class. I don't think of them as upper echelon. They have power to some degree but not enough and certainly not as much as someone who works outside of the us gov't. They might live in a nice house but it's by no means king like.

You're totally missing what everyone is saying. Someone who has money may be part of a certain class of society, but that money does not make them classy.

I've learned -
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I've learned -
That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

I've learned -
That credentials on the wall, do not make you a decent human being.

One last thought on CLASS and who has it......

Flavor Flav has money, but no class...

Harry Chapin gave his time and money to help the poor and hungry here on Long Island.....that's class.

Most of us on here, have no money, but have class.

In my opinion, Classy is when you don't need to throw around the fact that you are better off financially than others.

Hmmmmmmmm me thinks one day, when the money is gone and its just "you" in the real world, you may come across a few people with real "class".

You know, those people who are THERE for YOU when the ones with money turn their back on you.

I am not made of money. I come from a family that is, there's a difference especially in my family.

I just don't see the term of someone embroidering class as a peasant versus a queen. I mean you're tossing around the term like the dictionary doesn't exist and it does exist for a reason. There are seperate classes of people especially in the US which there are more classes than usual.

You have the highest echelon, you proceed down to upper middle class, middle class, lower middle class, then you have 2 stages of poverty as well. I actually exist in the lowest poverty level based on money, I will have made less than $10,000.00 this past year. Most of which came from unemployment benefits without unemployment I would have made less than $5,000.00. However, I know where I come from, and when I think of class I don't think of the peers I went to school with. They aren't brought up in the same place that I began my life. They have no name that is a marque figure on this world. To say that an upper middle classman who makes oh I don't know about 800 million dollars less or substantially less in their lifetime depending on who you're talking about compared to the truly wealthy... I don't know how you can compare those people. That isn't to say that they aren't upper middle class. I think of athletes and most entertainers as upper middle class, right up there with doctors and dentists as well as top lawyers senators governors and the leaders of the military. I believe the president is the upper echelon... I believe other countries and their leaders fit that category as well. However, I don't see how a person who is granted no rewards, honors, dresses like those, or has the opportunity to show off like those can be considered for this placement.

What you guys think is expensive I laugh at not because I personally know what it's like to burn that money but because my family did burn that money.

I've learned

that its okay to dis-agree

I also believe that money does not instill class within your soul,,

Yes there are different levels of class

I don't give a damn about anyone but me,no class

middle of the road,, which way do i go, do I listen to my inner thoughts,, Do I do the right thing class

Then there's That moment of Humbling music,,, that flows from the lonely man on the street corner with a tear in his eye and a softness to his light,,, Now there's class

I totally agree, but I also believe that without wealth you can't be seen as having class.

I've learned-
That life isn't always like dancing on a bed of roses. There is also booze and women around.

I've learned-
That I can do anything I want, because I've come to understand my own craziness. Yes, I'm cuckoo, out of my mind, loosescrewed wacko and I'm loving every single second of it.

And Squonk, I think he means "class" as in "Class to the core".

I've learned -
That just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
