The older I get, the more I find people get set in their ways and are inflexible to a relationship.

The older I get, the more I find lots of men suck in bed. They are selfish, lazy, and don't communicate or pay attention. (I have noticed that giving women oral is "popular" though, so hey kudos to that and it's about time!)

The older I get, the more I realize men want a woman to fit with them, rather than to mesh and compliment one another.

The older I get, the more sad, sorry and pathetic dates I go on.

The older I get, the more I realize the struggle to remain optimistic can be hard.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the support of my friends.

Wow, Lilith, lots of truth here. And, it seems the older men I date are not just set in their ways, but willingly do not go out of their way to be polite, just start fartin' on the first date!!! And, I've noticed that they don't necessarily get more mature as they age. Some have really surprised me with thie greediness and expectations.

And, that's where this comes in, like Franshade says:
"hell the older I get, the better I get

better at making choices
better at making deadlines
better at being me

Do I need a man? - No
Would I like a man to share my life? - absoflippinglutely!!!!!
Would I settle? - HELL NO! "

the older I get the older I get

I like men. But it is VERY hard finding one with the same values I do. I know there is a good one out there . . .timing is everything. :)

SKP, Yes, it is sad but true. I just wrote a profile for my mom, who is in her 60's. Here is what put in there:

"I am looking for a gentleman who is intelligent, articulate and not inflexible. As we age, we are all aware we become used to things being a certain way. However, I find that can become a barrier to new experiences, opportunities, and romance. I would love to find a partner who is interested in great conversation, new experiences, and genuinely getting to know me, as I am interested in getting to know the right man. "

This stands for me too, though.

The less I want to be in a "committed relationship". Does anyone else feel the same way.

Yes I feel that way sometimes. Part of it is that I am a fiercely independent person. I have done the "committed relationship" thing and now its almost become passe and a "been there, done that" kind of situation.

I want to be me, I want to continue my life as I always have and I just dont need a man. I never have. People might try to make you feel bad about it but hey, let em. You are you and it actually speaks volumes about your intelligence and fortitude.

happy

Being that I'm sitting at home & alone during the holiday season, I'll answer with "the older I get, the more I'd like to have someone to pass the time with".

As for sex, more frequent and better quality are always welcome ;)

Nope.

I don't care how old I get, I miss being a wife.
