i think we need to come up with a godless holiday for atheist that isnt Halloween.

Just for your info....Halloween is about MANY MANY MANY Gods... It's the LEAST of the Godless holidays.

But back to the ? at hand...What do you get an Athierst for X-mas?

Whatever you want to get them...

It's their choice to believe what they want, it's your choice to believe what you wish.

We already have a "GOD-less" holiday...It's called CHRISTMAS...the year end holiday that has become so commercialized it no longer has anything to do with FAITH or GOD.

Sounds to me like you need one of those ergonomic chairs that you kneel on, it straightens out your spine quite nicely...

I had one of those at work in January. I agree it straightens the spine out well but it really does not do my restless legs any good. If I can't move my legs every minute or two I'm in pain.

A word of thanks going out to Hellkitten54 for tracking down that article and posting it in its entirety. Taken from the story.

Many people say they're happy to see such a message while others point out that, while they don't agree, it's good that divergent views can be expressed."

Perhaps there is no way that (I) can prove His existence, but there is also no way that (you) cannot prove it, either. Just because one cannot physically SEE something does not mean it isn't there.

One way is to see its effects -- you can't "see" wind, per se, but you can see leaves blowing around; and wind direction and velocity can be measured by the appropriate instruments.

Inasmuch as I have yet to see a single shred of evidence that God (or any other supernatural being, entity, or power), being "invisible," has any sort of perceivable or measurable effect on anything whatsoever, I am disinclined to believe in his existence. I could be wrong; I'll be the first to admit that. But I see no more reason to believe in God than to believe in the existence of millions of invisible and somehow intangible 1000-foot statues of pelicans placed in inconspicuous areas throughout North Dakota.

Are you also a follower of the Pelican, brother?

Well i haven't really read much of this topic at all(too many pages)
But for one.. Christmas is not even a Christian holiday. Its a Pagan holiday. The christians started christmas as a way to convert the pagans to christianity. Same with a lot of the other christian holidays(if you notice, they are all on or around pagan holidays). The only difference between the Pagan holiday and Christmas is Jesus.
If an athiest were to celebrate christmas, it should be more in the pagan tradition. I'm not athiest, but I still don't celebrate christmas, mostly because christians are full of ****.

i'm about to vent.....

ok when it comes to the whole "quit trying to push your beliefs on me",BOTH sides are guilty of this!.

i'm Baptist and reading through i see both Christians and Atheists trying to give their reasoning to why God does or doesn't exist and the thing is,neither side is going to budge on what their beliefs are,so nobody is really getting anywheres.

if you believe in God,great.if you don't,hey you're entitled to your beliefs but either way don't sit there and gripe about about what someone else believes when both sides are doing the same thing!

vent over........now where's the b00bs?

When you suffer prejudice and abuse for not believing in God then you have every right to try and educate Christians as to why you believe what you believe. You're right, nobody is going to change their beliefs. I am not trying to change Christian beliefs; all I want is for people from any religion to understand me as I understand them. My last girlfriend was one of the most religious Christians I have ever met. She was understanding of my beliefs but unfortunately her church friends were not. The prejudices from her church friends eventually put an end to our relationship. Add to that getting passed up for promotions and being physically attacked because of my beliefs. Tell me the Christians that do these things don't need educating. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. I only want to be not treated like dirt.
