Topic: Childrens pictures on Mingle?

You do know that a picture of a child is just that right? A picture. A pedophile can get a picture of a child anywhere. Having a picture of your little one up is NOT going to invite any unwanted guess into your home. YOU have the responsibility as a parent to screen each and every individual that walks into your child's life. I REALLY do not think anybody is going to be coming into my computer monitor and attacking anybody that lives in my home.

you must be Kidding...... do you realize that any computer connected to the web is a potential target?

Yes that is why I do not let a child use a computer or a cell phone without adult supervision.

Welcome to the REAL world of the internet.

No, if you google the most visited sites you will see that adult dating sites aren't even close to being the real world of the internet. They are a drop in the web bucket compared to other sites that I will not mention.

I am young but my google works just as well as anyone elses google. .......Hey, that sounds kinda perverse.

Yup...age DOES matter, folks!

Certainly not meaning to be harsh, Ms. Mindy...but, did it ever occur to you that those who are the most sly go to the sites that are not so "google-able" to OOGLE? ohwell

Just food for thought: Would YOU post pics of YOUR children on here if you actually had them?

Think very carefully before you answer, ok?

Pets, so? I kinda want to know how much a man loves his dog. If I see the man loves his dog too much then I know I would play second string with him and I might avoid him. Pictures are helpful information.

I absolutely think that was Lilith's point. If you are posting professionally done pics of you and your pet, then a potential match "probably" would play second fiddle to the pet.

It' not a professional pic, my kid took it, but thanks anyway, FYI the dog is third fiddle.

Um - I don't think she ever said YOUR pics. It was just a statement about others. I can see yours are not professional. It wasn't directed towards you sir.

Shareing photographs is part of life and I guarantee you that there are plenty of pictures of your child that are taken and posted many places that you are totally unaware of and that does not mean for any lewed or illegal reason. Birthday parties, security cameras, traffic photos, press photos, cell phones, classroom photos, even licenses. Yea they are a little less accessible than the web but you would be amazed how weirdo's can access photo's. You can not make your child inaccessible enough to prevent it.

If someone takes a respectable photo and distorts it well that is a crime that reflects on them not the person who took the original photo or the subject.

If I had children...

I would post photos of my children and me together to show how important they are to me.

Could some weirdo look at my children and say... hey I want to kidnap those kids so I think I will try to hunt them down..... sure. That could happen at the grocery store or the mall too. Should I not take my kids to the store or mall or movies or chucky cheese because of some possibility of a weirdo kidnapping them?

There are no phone numbers or street addresses on my profile. Even my home town is not listed.

The world is a dangerous place but I am not going to lock my future kids in the basement for safety.

I would be 10 times more worried about my kids being on myspace, the place the perverts look for kids, than I would be on an adult dating site.

i post the photos. Why?Because they are a part of me.I will not live in fear of the criminal element and I am more concerned with the real life pervs and nuts then some virtual weirdo.
My son is only allowed on certain sites I screen and my computer is in the living room.He is well supervised believe me both in and out of the house.

Well gotta go.On my way to Wal-mart to get pics done of the cat..waving

I have pics of my son posted on here. Of course he is older and not exactly the type for pedophiles- ie football player

I do not have pictures of my son here, the child on the site pics is my nephew and is posted with my sister's permission. He is young enough where it's not really an issue, anyhow.

But no one is going to right click on photos of MY son.... no thank you. I'm not giving away images of my innocent kiddo.

I'm trying to understand this......and I'm not trying to be argumentative. Just would you mind explaining why it's ok to post your nephew and not your own child? Maybe it's just the age factor argument I'm not understanding.

I agree with all your points, Ms. Mindy...but, ever heard of an IP Address? Ever hear of pirating pics and photoshopping them to suit others needs? I sure have...and have seen it done...professionally and perfectly. So, nope...NO pics of my children will ever be posted on the internet.

My kids aren't locked in the basement...well, unless they have been wicked. pitchfork (j/k!!!)

But, as a living, breathing current parent...I can earnestly say I will protect my children at every corner I can...and the internet is one of those pesky corners.

If a certain someone becomes a part of my real life, then yes...they will be privvy to my children...in REAL life, not in pics. I don't need to show idle pics of my children to strangers to prove my love and adoration for them.

When you actually have children...you may actually grasp this concept. Until then - party on! drinker

'Nuff said! flowerforyou

PS: Myspazz is NOT a place I have a profile, nor would I ever let my children have a profile there...for your precise reasons stated.
