I just wanted some opinions on the safety of having kids pictures on a adult geared website. Never expected it would cause a arguement. Everyone has choices of what they put on their profiles. I keep things guarded to start with, as you can tell by the closeup photo on my own profile, nevermind how I guard my childrens identity. I have a private pic of my son sleeping on my shoulder that I show to friends and that is it. We both look cute.

Regarding the pet conversation, that got way off topic. I don't care if someone has a pet pic on their profile, I just personally would never even think of getting a professionally done pic of a pet but that is just MHO.

I at one time had a few pics of my daughter on here. I didn't see anything wrong with it. But I do see both sides.

As for the pet pics - nothing wrong IMO of posting pics of your pets. But I do tend to agree with Lilith - Professional pics of you and your pet - kind of disturbing for a potential match.

Yes, I can see where it is being viewed as off topic, but I prefer to see it ias tangental drift.

Those people who are worried about posting photos of children because this is an adult website. I have a question:

Where do you think the child porn weirdos go when they want to see pictures of kids? They go to myspace and facebook where moms and dads post 100's of kids photos.

I don't think child porn weirdos search adult dating sites for kiddie porn. It wouldn't be a good use of their time.

I can see why people wouldn't want to put their kids pictures on here but I don't mind those who do. Kids are part of the family.

Pets, so? I kinda want to know how much a man loves his dog. If I see the man loves his dog too much then I know I would play second string with him and I might avoid him. Pictures are helpful information.

I absolutely think that was Lilith's point. If you are posting professionally done pics of you and your pet, then a potential match "probably" would play second fiddle to the pet.

Me? the only reason i'd post pictures of my kids is because i dabble in photography and some of the photos i capture are so amazing that i choose to share them

i don't post them here, on myspace, or even in my photobucket account.

they are nobody's business and no one needs to see what they look like.

it's not so much that i'm afraid someone will find us (them) but rather who knows what some nutcase could do with possibly manipulating an image of them.

no way am i going to put my children in that sort of position, however low the risk may, or may not, be.

I very well understand the realities of the world.

That there are some really creepy people in the world that can take something wholesome and normal and twist it into something terrible is another.

That a criminal might decide to target me or my loved ones because I am on line, or they see me in a grocery store, or they know me through my work and stalk me (which actually happened to me) well I accept that as part of the world I live in. I don't like it. I am definitely more careful than most.

But that does not mean I am going to go into hiding or take my children/grandchildren or pets off the web any more than I would take them out of a public park. Would I leave them there without close adult supervision? NO WAY!

But I am on this site for the decent people. I am going to share my interest and the fact that there are others that are significant elements of my life. Will I betray their privacy no.
