Topic: why would a God have the "need" to create

I have cracked the "Book" and when I did I found that many more problems with it.

Now when I post these various passages pointing out how stupid, ridiculous, violent, misogynist or agenda driven they are, the Christians whine, yet can offer no explanation other than, "Its god's word and just accept it."

Pfft. grumble

the answers we are looking for....
are
right there
inside the pages of that book......

practically
jumping
right off the pages at us.

"MorningSong" unfortunely that "Book" doesn't contain the answer as to why a supposely all powerful God that want or need for naught all of suddenly has a "need"

yea wouldnt u b that doesnt make it a need an the point i was getting at was not the needto eat it was the way in which u did it u can stay home an eat wat is already there or u can go buy something for variety

"DHinkle" I wouldn't have the need to dine in or dine out if God didn't have the need to create people with the need to eat ..so the question once again is why did God have the need to do that or the need to create anything

dude u completely disregard wat i said an the point i was tryin to make an turn it into some inconherable statement i think thats called ***** footing actually im sure it is

well since we are created in his and the angels image and most folks have a desire for love and companionship, I stick with the premis that he wanted some company and since he loved us and gave us so much at that time, some abused it and we end up here, today, as we are now, and for me, I don't sweat it, all will be known and made right in the end as it was in the beginning

"SharpShooter" if God create people in his image and from his essence then isn't God just merely loving himself ..

in his and the angels images, which were our souls in the beginning not just Gods image. And to me anyway, No, he wasn't just merely loving himself. There is a lot we don't know regarding the "Beginning" I agree. I think we will all know in the end. Not trying to convert ya funchesdrinker just sharing how i feel about it

Love one another as we love ourselves
from God, as practiced by God:wink:

That sounds like you could just interject god with the Wizard of Oz. You do realize that there is nothing really to say that the writer of that book was not referring to organized religion and the Wizard was merely an analogy. A pretty darn accurate one also.

"SharpShooter" before creation the angels or souls didn't exist ...so are you saying that God "need" to create out of lonelyness

before that creation I guess you are correct and perhaps God was or could be lonely, I was speaking of our existence with God in spirit bodies before the Creation of this age, man on the sixth day and adamic adam on the eighth.

I am not sure why he created us other that what I said which is just my thoughts of possibility.
I think that before the creation of mankind in the flesh of Genesis that this world existed in another age, and that we were able to traverse the earth and be here, we were just in spiritual bodies at that time. all i know of spirit bodies at that time is that even while supernatural as we may think of it, they had to have mass of some sort if needed cause the fallen angels through the ages even impregnated flesh women. Maybe one of these fallen ones did an ape just to get a giggle when the creationist and evolutionist started argueing . These offspring resulted in Giants in the time of Genesis, perhaps in the age before, that is where some of the mythologies of the greeks and others came from, half horse and half man stufflaugh indifferent noway a horse

I guess I am funches, I don't know what the "need" was other than possibly being alone and wanting a family for lack of other words. He obviously had "desire" as well, don't know the cause of the need or desire.

Dont forget he also tried to kill off his creation in the flood. That would lead me to believe that he created humans to be something for him to play with and once his toys were no longer fun, he chose to destroy them.

These religions are all very similar to the Greco/Roman pantheon as they originated in the Mediterranean. The only difference there is many God/Goddesses as opposed to a singular male deity.

When you become immortal, let me know how well that"one can only become bored with itself." concept works out. As a Taoist i try not lend myself to knowing what i do not yet understand. One must first ask, receieve the answer, meditate upon it and then achieve understanding in order to trully know anything. But then again what one knows passes with the breeze....noway huh

"Maikuru" it was you that said that maybe God would eventually get bored and "need" a laugh

wouldn't it be impossible to be bored unless one has first become bored with oneself ..

No i said that He/She/Them/IT would eventaully get bored. Your arguement is flawed in the fact the it first presumes that one has to be alone in order to get bored. People get bored all the time and their about 6 billion about them last time i checked. Your statment is illogical and points to the assumption that creation is the result of individal effort rather than a collective one and also you presume that all boredom is the result of one being alone. Those presumptions make your arguement invalid....noway

"SharpShooter" I'm not sure your timeline fit your theory ...wasn't the angels banish from Heaven because humans already existed which would mean that the angels and human spirts all existed at the same time...also wasn't the fallen angels or Nephilm and their offspring all drown in the great flood

also it seems like you are saying that spirits existed along side God before they were placed in the flesh but according to Genesis nothing existed but God
