Topic: why would a God have the "need" to create
no photo

Well...first we would have to establish that God does indeed "need". And until you do that....we cannot proceed with discovering why that need exists. So I tell you what....show me the evidence that God needs something...anything...and THEN we can discuss why.

"ljcc" the evidence is you ...didn't God create you ..that's either a yes or no ..or if you are agnostic a maybe...

when God create you he performed an action...to perform an action requires a "need" ...so now that we got that out of the way ...can you explain why would God need to

Your logic is flawed. Action does not necessarily follow need. Try again.

Maybe because God is so good that they wanted all creation to share in their glory.

God created us with Free Will... when we discovered sin we found the difficulties of sinfulness... covetousness and emptiness...want and need. We are always looking for something else, something new, something better because we can't really find anything imperfect that fills the God-shaped void in us.

"Botcher" this is about why God has needs not why humans have them ...

see ljcc1964's question to you - answer it first - where does it say in the book he had or has a need?

"Tribo" you can't run to the bible or "google cut and paste" an answer for this one ...you may actually have to think for yourself ..try it ..it's not all that hard

Quikstepper ...remember nothing was created before God had the need to create it which means there was nothing that existed to share it with but God himself

It IS possible that any/all actions of men are born of some need....and I emphasize the word "possible". But let's assume for the sake of argument that this IS true. You are still attempting to attribute a HUMAN charactaristic to a NON-HUMAN entity.

You are claiming, without any substantiating evidence, that God has needs. Even philosophically speaking, God, by definition, is self-sufficient. To be God, He needs nothing. If He needed anything, He could not be God.

So again I ask you....what is your evidence of God having needs?

I don't believe you actually want to know the answer to the question you asked. I believe you only want to debate for the sake of debating.

"Tribo" with any action comes a need to perform that action ... that statement exlains that God have a "need" ..unless you can explain why that statement is not accurate

"ljcc" ..when God created he resorted to using the human concept of "Time" to create his creation which means non-entity feats can be attribute to the realm of human reality ..also let's not forget Jesus in which God made himself human ..so that why the concept of need can be applied to God

Sorry. But you are still making assumptions which you have no evidence of. Now I think you're just making things up....laugh

why would a omnipotent omniscience omniscient omni-whatever entity lack in it's existence that it would have a need to create ...the addiction of "want" and "need" are for those that lack control over themselves or their environment ..so why would a God have the need to create ... .... this is one of those questions that when asked no believer seem to be able to answer it

God CREATED with a PLAN and PURPOSE .

When you create something Funch, do you create aimlessly....with no purpose in mind,
or
do you create with a plan and purpose in mind....

With NO Plan or Purpose, there would ONLY be CHAOS...NO ORDER in the Universe....

But since the Universe has ORDER, God Obviously Knows what He is doing....

God has PLAN and PURPOSE in Mind in All that He does....Including His Creation.

no evidence? .."ljcc" ..is the bible full of assumption because according to the bible it took God "six days" to create the universe and "forty days" to drown all life on Earth except what was on Noah's ark ...and Jesus as God had human characteristics ..which mean this non-human entity called God clearly became human and therefore human factors can be applied to him ..

don't they teach this stuff in sunday school anymore

nice try funch - your gonna get squirmy on this one huh?

if he had a NEED to heal the blind there would be no blind people. you my friend have a need - no 2 neeeds - first - to try and prove god has a need, secondly for something to debate cause your bored - You are the one with a NEED - laugh

So let's rephrase the original op again - Why does funches have needs?

So what? God can do whatever He wants & if He chooses to create so be it. Right?

God lives & has His being in all of creation. We are His prized possessions...His children.
