This is a very sad time for our country. As I listened to President-elect Obama's speech the other night, he ended by saying "God Bless America". Why should God bless America when we are killing 4,000 of his children EVERY DAY? This is the most important issue that faces America today -- the horrific killing of 4,000 unborn children every day, 1.3 million every year, even while being born, the barbaric partial-birth abortion - that 80% of Americans want banned--but not President-elect Obama. He doesn't care what the American people want as he's beholding to the Abortion Industry for millions of dollars in contributions. Obama does not even care that in these late term abortions the child suffers excruciating pain. It's obvious to me that money is more important to Obama than common decency.

Yes, women should have reproductive freedom. They can reproduce at will, but once reproduction is over, then no one has the right to kill another human being. Remember, they're not abortion, they're the killing of unborn children.

If you doesn't think this American Holocaust concerns you, then think again, as it's one of the main reasons that Social Security is going broke. Where there used to be 14 workers for every retiree, there's now a shade under four. Since 1973, when killing unborn children became legal with the U.S. Supreme Court ruling "Roe vs. Wade" over 50 million unborn and partially born children have been killed. We have been killing off our work force. Thus, when you are ready to retire, will the money be there? Will you have to retire at a later age?

The economy, Iraq and health insurance combined are still a distant second to the killing of 1.3 million children EVERY YEAR. Obama has promised the Abortion Industry that, when president, he will appoint only pro-abortion judges to the Supreme Court, thus mocking God, who said, 'Thou Shalt Not Kill.'

And we still have the gall to ask God to bless America?

14 workers for every retiree and you are blaming abortion because there its not anymore?

What about the increasing number of baby boomers retiring, but if you wanted to KEEP high birthrates, with the current population, there wouldn't be ENOUGH JOBS for all those new babies when they grow up.

Looks like you advocate the concept that current workers carry the entire burden for retirees.

The concept of Social Security was that we get paid back what we put in. The PROBLEM is that wages NEVER kept up with cost of living and the medical field saw increases in the cost of treatment and meds for people rising at 4 times the rate of cost of living.

So even though we pay into social security, it would NEVER cover what we need as an older population.

If you want to cut down on abortion, support BETTER birth control, at more AFFORDABLE prices, and more accurate and educational school programs than abstinance programs.

But I'm going to hazard a guess that you wouldn't approve of that either, since the beginning of your article implies that you WANT high birthrates in a population that already cannot support people, since less than 10% of the American population is tying up over 25% of the gross national income of this country. Leaving over 90% of us to try and get our share or the remainder of less than 75%.

any inteligent thinker must admit if a baby is killed b4 it becomes a baby

then they will impact the number of baies born

maybe there would still be a baby boom

if babies were not being killed b4 they became babies

that is not rocket science

but hey

what do i know

as for congress stilling the retirement/disability "insurance" fund that is a whole nother story

Obviously, 'MarsNeverSleeps', you are a sensitive person. Concerned with the fate of your fellow human, it would appear, and that is commendable.

However, with all due respect, the rethoric you offer in this post of yours is laced and inebriated with moral and intellectual 'shortcomings', and only leads to 'human bankcrupty'.

Giving oneself religious and dogmatic 'good conscience' through the most dishonest and profound denial of reality, does not make for an enlightened human race.

All the false prophets and their followers, waging this delusional and dogmatic 'good conscience' war against reality, does not invite, much less elevate the human spirit, it kills it.

Pregnancies which will not be brought to term for a multitude of reasons, is out of our control, and is a fact of life.

If all those suggestions of the false prophets from all those 'moralizing' religions, were the least effective in eliminating the reality of aborted pregnancies, we would not be holding this FALSE debate.

Making the act of abortion illegal, will not eliminate the reality of abortion.

Much like 'prohibition', making the act of 'drinking' illegal, to give some of the people a good conscience, never stopped people from drinking, laws 'prohibiting' abortion will never stop the act.

Coercitive moralization and the idiotic laws which sometimes give it abusive existence, simply displaces the problem.

It became 'poisonous bootlegging' in the case of prohibition, and it was 'back alley 'butchering', in the case of abortion, where more often than not, an innocent woman would die in the process.

That is what makes the rethoric of your post a moral and intellectual bancrupt point, and this wiole thing a false debate. It doesn't deal with reality. It doesn't stop the acts of abortion, and it closes the 'good people' eyes to thousands of women dying in the process.

Hide and deny as much as one will, the reality of abortion is one of many morally charged facts of the human experience. No one wishes for it, much less rejoice in it.

Dealing with it responsibly, with as much dignity as we can all muster in the face of our human paradox, doing everything we can to limit the collateral human damage, is today, and forever the human 'way to go', ... whatever the god to whom we may or may not pray.

N.B.: As an aside 'MarsNeverSleeps', I strongly suggest you consider dropping the moralizing and grossly dishonest and delusional terms 'killing unborn chidren', 'holocaust' and 'abortion industry' when talking about interrupted pregnancies.

Also, God, yours, mine, or anyone elses can as much bless the USA today under Obama, as he could under 'W', Clinton, Bush father, Reagan, Carter, etc., ....

If you are a god fearing patriot as I suspect you are proud of being, your country has just elected the new president of ALL the people of the USA.
The only job of all loyal patriots is to rally behind the clear and final democratic choice of President-elect Obama.

Mars my Man you make some valid points...but...in this neighborhood...in most cases...it will go in one ear and out the other...although I too am pro life...my beliefs are usually kept to myself...I'm here for fun and some spirited debate...when discussing Gay Rights and Abortion...I find it best to state your case quietly...and...move on...as a matter of fact...I usually respond as oppose to initiate any discussion on these two subjects...or else...gulp !!...lol

"He doesn't care what the American people want?"

Well, the American people wanted him. He won the majority electoral vote by a landslide AND the majority popular vote.
That hasn't been done in decades.

"Partial birth abortions?"

He didn't vote for that because the wording wasn't right.

He is not "for" abortions. Nobody is. He wants to cut down on the number of unwanted pregnancies so there will be less abortions.

Where did I say anything about when life begins?

Is a Embryo / Fetus alive? If it's living, what is it...human? And what do you call it when you kill a human who isn't an immediate threat to your life and is innocent of any crime? The law calls that murder.
