Topic: Dating OUTSIDE your own race ethnicity... whats the big deal | |
---|---|
Lets talk about why this is still a big deal to some ( probably more so than we realize because this is politically incorrect to feel such a way.
I consider myself an open minded individual> I feel that i make it known that i am what i like to call " equal opportunity" when it comes to dating. but one day at work i was in the office and they were talking about the type of woman i need in my life. I said " well heads are never setting me up with anyone" my boss replied " well i just don't know that many black women" " i stated " what does that have to do with anything". Lets talk about it |

I hear ya....
I date all ethnic groups and usually get a lot of sh!t because of it. Whenever I go on a date, my friends always ask "is he black or white?" I just shake my head and say "what difference does it make?" pretty sad eh? |

I have always held the belief that true love is not prejudice. It doesn't have a color, a sexual orientation, an age, weight, height, or a monetary value. It is what it is. When it finds you, accept it, and hold on to it with every thing you have. Because one thing is for sure, true love doesn't come around that often, and when it does, never pass it up out of fear for what others might say about it. Cause if you do, you might just be passing up the true love you've been searching for all along.

If you're attracted to someone, what difference does it make what color they are? Or age, height, weight, shoe size, eye color, financial status, what town they were born in....etc., etc. You have preferences, they have preferences, if it matches up, it's nobody else's business. Easy for me to say, I'm hardly ever attracted to anybody!

I think love between 2 people can be found regardless of race. I think itis a good thing, and if a woman of another race and I fell in love, it would be sincere, and boundless.
There are stigmas in the world concerning bi-racial babies. This isn't something I attest to, but it is a fact of life as long as we face racial barriers in this country. Depending on where you live, there may or may not be such (from the outside looking in) streotypes, but if you are going to fall in love, and you are going to make babies, then you will be faced with the reality of what each side of the family thinks of the other side. I have a best friend that came to American from Guinea Africa. His skin is very dark, and folks call him a "black" man... He fell in love with a wonderful woman here in the states. Here skin is very light, her hair is blonde, and people call her "white." They got married, and now they have a baby. His entire family is still in Africa. He now suffers from a LOT of racism because of the joining of their two hearts due to HER family having racial issues with him. They have cut him in every way possible, even to tell him to his face that he only married her to gain U.S. citizenship. But he is one of the hardest working men I have ever met. He works 2 forty-hour a week jobs to support his wife and baby, and rarely has he ever taken a vacation in 3 years. There are not that many people of any race that I could hold in such high esteem. Yet, as Bob Marley says in one of his songs "The Struggle Continues"..... Personally, I think love should be let go between people's of all nations, races, religions, and the sort. We are all human beings first, and love can be a wonderful thing. My friend and his wife made a BEAUTIFUL baby, but the baby is going to feel the racial tension when she is old enough to her the girl's side of the family say evil, racist things. THESE are the things we all need to be wise to... ignorance and separatist mentalities do still exist on the planet, but in our own way, each of us can choose to think in a different, better way. We saw 400 years of oppression... then in 1964 a Civl Rights law was signed that created many equal rights... we have had only 44 years to make a difference since then. Those of us that want to see that difference continue to be freedom for everyone, as equals, need to stick together. I think love is one of the greatest ways for that freedom to become a permanent bond. |

I don't give a damn what " race " she is.
If she's smart, quick witted, attractive, and willing to deal with me, then she could be freakin' PURPLE for all it matters to me. |

Love doesn't see color. We all bleed red and are all created by God. He is no respector of persons nor should we be.

Nice to hear all the people saying it doesn't matter but when you have mixed blood you do have to deal with it your whole life and it gets old having the bigots of the world trash one one race or another. My Grand kids look like the united nations and you would be shocked how often that has caused greif for me, or them, or my kids. Hopefully in a few more generations it won't matter at all. Peace all of ya!

Thats such an irrational thought, yet it crosses my mind. I assume that they would only be attracted to a black female so I dont try. I wonder if this ever happens with black men when considering whether or not to ask a white female out? |
