I'm freezing my a$$ off, but I refuse! to turn my heat on........yet. I would almost kill for a fireplace right now. Maybe I'll build a fire pit in the middle of my dining room. 
It must've been cold as Siberia up there where you live, 'cause even where I live, 40 miles east of you (one of CT's warmest inland spots), it dipped down into the upper 30's. I grew up 2 towns away from where you live, and it was always colder there than most of the rest of CT. Wow this is like old home week .. I lived in West Hartford CT for almost 10 years and my daughter & her husband still live in Hartford, across from the law school. Eque .. I know people in Torrington.
