 I used to be one of those white people that didnt think rascism existed (much)anymore but recently, in college, and in this election, I have come to see that I was mistaken. I see the discrimination all over the place now kinda like my minority friends always tried to tell me about. I think that most white people just dont understand it because they dont have to deal with rascism and prejudice in their day to day lives.

That's part of the problem.

If prejudice was so rampant, Mr. Obama wouldn't be in the position he's in. That fact alone has the hatemongers quivering because they can see that they're out of buisness soon.
And just because Mr. Obama is in the position he's in doesn't mean that racism is on the decline.

I choose to believe that racism has evolved over the years and it is no longer 'neanderthal' with lynchings, public beatings, separatism, etc. I believe that racism affects me in only one way now: economically. I have many opportunities to succeed today that my parents didn't have and I am grateful, but I don't stand a chance against a closet racist who I have to go to for a job, a house, a loan, a car.....get my drift?

The other part is naturally the idiot whites who still are clinging onto their little small KKK groups. In todays society they seem to be such a small part that we could easily take care of them.

What do you suggest? Kill them? Incarcerate them?

I'd never suggest someone kill for the fact of race. Incarcerate if there was something physically done to another.(from a legal stand point "hate crimes" shouldnt exist, there should only be crimes, not 'ooo he called me a name so let me sue him'

If some how the rap culture could be rid. I believe racism would eventually die out majorly if not all together, in future decades. It was never intended for equal rights to CONTINUE racism to an exagerated extent. Everyone is lookin for revenge against someone and currently mostly for something that neither one of them did.

I still don't understand what you mean by take care of them though.

people die out and if someone can positively influence the children, then racism will be on the decline nothing in the future

I left out a few words I thought I put in there, the words "we as a society could take care of them" by that I meant that racist will die and as long as the kids are taught properly it would be eventually be taken care of.

Were you looking for me to say something offensive about killing white supremecist off myself? you sound like a lawyer trying to trap me. lol

There is of course an issue with racism still, but it only becomes an issue to me when someone brings it up. I am a white man with my own life to lead so im not going to spend much time worrying that black people have to deal with this. All i can do is not be racist myself. Apart from that i probably live inside a bubble and dont really appreciate the extent to which people of other cultures have things more difficult than myself.

No, but to "take care of " did sound a little sinister, was just seeking enlightenment!

Although racism still exists today in all walks of life, I feel that is was a bit more prominent back in my year of birth than it is now...especially being born and raised in Louisiana where there were segregation of the schools, restaurants, drinking fountains, etc.

Through all of the burning down of our churches and the burning of crosses on my grand parent's lawn....my Mother (God bless her soul)always taught us not to HATE those that HATED us. Her words were embedded in our minds as small children, and still remains in my mind until this very day.

HATRED against other races or those that are different than you is a "learned" behavior taught by parents...BUT SO IS "LOVE" for all, which is what my Mom taught me and my siblings.

I'm blind to the color of another's skin...always was, always will be.

We ALL belong to the same race....."THE HUMAN RACE"

Much Love to ALL of you:heart:

 Rose:heart:

Think again on the whites not getting it...the south is full of it on both side esp in the south where blacks population out numbers whites latinos or asians; or mathes the other major population.

I personally have a mixed child (his father is white). My son is not allowed in anyone's house on his father's side of the family. They don't claim him at all. My family thinks that I am a self-hater...meaning they believe that I only date white guys...TOTALLY UNTRUE!! I date all colors of the rainbow. It all depends on who I take a fancy too. Racism is alive and well, but I just brush away the ignorance and keep on stepping forward.

There are so many ways this can go and somone said once on here. You have your white and you have your whit trash, you have black and you have your black trash. It don't matter what race you are your always going to have good and bad people sorta speak and you will always have people that will blame others for there problems when it is actually they'er own falt for some of the situations. Do i think it will always be a problem. YEP! look at this world and anyone tell me that it is actually getting better and prove it.Then maybe i might believe ya.
I agree.....both sides are guilty because the one GLARING characteristic about racism is that it is a mindset, and passed down from generation to generation.

Your right, ill get honest here. I grw up around people like that and at that time in my teens and early adult hood. I thought i was untill i grew out of it and started seeing things for what they really are. Alot of things are passed down, but then again. in today world there is alot that is not and thats where things should change if anything

Good for you Denise.Racism is alive and well but I refuse to acknowledge it.I do think Blacks should stop using the N word and stop glorifying street thugs.I like rap but some of it is very juvenile in it's world view.

ok so maybe you're the one who doesn't get it, unless you've experienced it yourself? You are going to correct me on a census that is conducted every ten years? I still live in deep south Louisiana. A lot can happen in ten years so I believe what my eyes see and what I experience is a little better observation than a Government statistic.

As for the rap culture read my previous post to get an idea what I meant then get back to me. Cause it seems you picked the last post to comment on. If this horrid rap culture wasnt so popular and impressed into the minds on people today things would be a lot better.

I APPLAUD YOUR HONESTY!!!I believe that this is how most White people deal with this issue. They acknowledge its existence, then run from it without realizing that its their problem as well.

Until we can get ALL sides to accept and deal with it, racism will just keep rolling, rolling, rolling....keep them racists rolling......sorry, Rawhide is on....

I can't stand rap and hip hop. I listen to everything else tho. The videos are downright softcore porn and degrading to women
