I would think that Mcain choosing a woman to be the next vp....pretty much disproves that he is prejudiced against women. he might be an oppurtunist, but i dont think she will likely be the type to be a "pedastal" vp. but than mccain is not also the typical republican either now is he?? First you're going to insult the intelligence of my post, then you're going to criticize the way I express my feelings? Just who do you think you are, anyway? Somewhere in here you feel you're more intelligent than many of the posters on these issues. The way you phrased your statement offended me about as much as the way I phrased mine offended you. Let's be real here... we're both allowed to have conflicting opinions, and I don't have to follow any of your advice... I didn't insult the intelligence of your post, I pointed out that your arguments were terrible. I think I'm the father of a mentally retarded son and me and millions of other parents in my position are offended by people using "retarded" to mean stupid. My son has the mind of a 2.5 year old boy. That doesn't mean he's stupid, it means his mental development is delayed. I'm sure you wouldn't use the N-Word, but you have no problem using a word to imply that my precious son is stupid. Aidan is a gift from God who has taught me patience and love to a greater depth than I could have ever understood without his help, I hope that you will some day learn why children like him are called "special" so that you will stop using that hurtful word. |

I said my arguments may be as "retarded" as yours. I never said that I find the definition of that word to be "stupid," so maybe you should be the one feeling ashamed for assuming that I'm just like everyone else. I've also known people with mental disabilities and think they're much nicer than a lot of people who don't. Then again, some people who supposedly aren't disabled or "special" certainly could be classified as disabled in some ways. Try not to assume. Contrary to your obvious beliefs, you don't know everything.
