I never thought I would hear republicans defending nude pictures and teen pregnancy

I'm afraid I have to agree with this point. The choice to run at this time, tossing her kid to the sharks,isn't going to win any points with mothers.

Mirror, any links to more information on the nude pictures? I find it hard to believe she could have made it this far it it were true.

I am thinking this will be a victory for those that want to keep women at home. I do believe women can do it all, but timing is crucial. I feel sorry for her kids, especially poor Bristol. I hope she is as strong as her mother & can edure this. I really hope the media leaves her alone & she can have a healthy & uneventful pregnancy & a healthy baby.

The pictures exist because Palin has admited to smoking pot and taking nude pics in the past but nobody has confirmed them YET.A lot of rumors that someone out there has them offering to the highest bidder.

I will keep looking with great interest.

I agree its sad alright that calling people muslims and pregnant daughter and stupid stuff like that is what its all come down to.

IMO, it is human nature to be afraid of what you don't understand, and relish it when the righteous fall. It is also human nature to try to impose our beliefs on others. We're only doing what comes naturally!

Attacking children of political candidates is unacceptable. Al Gore's son was busted multiple times for selling drugs and Republicans never made any political hay with that. Chelsea Clinton belonged to a weird cult that worshiped some dude who dresses like an angel, nobody made any hay with that. Why should Sarah Palin's career suffer because some people are so despicable that they would attack a 17 year old and a 1.5 year old? Such people have a voice because of the internet, but all right thinking people should ignore them.

So, Republicans have been preaching abstinence and making moral judgments about the worth of teen aged pregnant poor people, especially people of color, for years.

Now huzzah! We have a teen aged white girl who is pregnant and her pregnancy is off limits?

Funny isn't it that the republicans are asking the people of the United States to respect her privacy in regards to her choices about reproduction but they want the government to be able to limit my choices and privacy.

Do you have proof that this girl preached abstinence? If not, then no hypocrisy.

This young girl has nothing to do with her mother's position as McCains VP. Her actions and choices should not condemn her mother.

Her mother's well defined position is that abstinence only be taught in public schools.

In court, once a door to a subject, let's say the character of a defendant is opened by the defendants council, the prosecutor can then address the issue as fair game and ask questions and bring whitenesses to attest to that issue.

Palin opened the door by publicly stating and supporting abstinence only programs.

As for republicans condemning poor teen aged mothers of all colors go reread some speeches and comments made regarding the need for welfare reform.

Yeah, that's called race baiting. Sorry if that's not how you intended it, but surely you can admit that if nothing else your words have a clear appearance of race baiting.



What do you mean "choices and privacy"? What does that have to do with respecting this young woman's privacy? You want your privacy respected, but to hell with Sarah Palin's daughter's privacy? When you said "Hypocrite" earlier, were you looking in a mirror by any chance?



Do you have any teenaged children? Were you a teenager? Unless your parents kept you locked in your room, I'm sure that you did plenty of things they wouldn't have approved of. Even if they kept you locked in your room, you were still able to do things they didn't approve of.

I was a teen ager...just replying to your question lest I be accused of dodging them.

I have three adult children. Two girls and a boy. I never lied to them about sex, I called things by the proper names, there was no misinformation or denial of information when they asked, I did not tell them they would burn in hell for engaging in teen sex or for getting pregnant, I did however point out that teen mothers usually end up alone, a burden to society and contribute to higher jail populations and lower rates of education and I let them make up their own minds about their bodies.

I happily became a grandmother for the first time two years ago at age 47. The parent of the twins was 27 when they were born.

For those who say, "$hit happens" You are right. The best laid plans and all. Whether a child does or doesn't become pregnant can have zero to do with what a parent does or believes. Still, children who know the facts of reproduction are less likely to be sold a bill of goods by a horny boyfriend or (not to be sexist)girlfriend that could ruin their lives.

I strongly believe that "$hit" does happen and when it involves reproduction it's none of the governments business what happens between a woman and her physician.
