Yes. I will admit, I have been burned by a female friend over the years. Deception or abuse of familiarity is not limited in terms of gender. In reference to this comment, I was addressing men specifically and stating that I do not assume that ALL males who approach me are trying to get at something or other.

i mean you can't be betrayed by a stranger.
but i do have to admit that women do carry most of the burdon when reading the intentions are conserned.

I don't really think about whether they mean it or not. I am gracious and say thank you. I hear "sexy" alot more than cute or hot though so I don't know if that means anything more or less...lol

I’m not sure I understand your comment? Do you mean women need to be more wary of men? Well yes and no. Men can be more capable of physical harm or violence under certain circumstances but it is not exclusive to them.

"cute" is the puppy dog or bunny rabbit compliment..I don't like the word "cute" for adults..lol.

what i mean miss krimsa,is that when a woman tells a man that he's hot or what have you,a man generally will not try to hard to find any hidden meanings.
his ego,his pride,call it what you'd like,will be pleased.
when a woman hears this from a man,unless its words of adornment comming from woman's boyfriend or husband,in most cases she will be wondering why he said it.

women are always more analyzing then men are.
and i have to say,that if my gender would analyze more often,we would save ourselves a hell of a lot of trouble.

I can’t say I agree with you 100% of the time on that. I do understand where you are coming from however. It might certainly be more instinctual for women to analyze the intentions of men. Actually you see that in most any female mammal of the species. There could be very specific reasons for this also. A female animal may have young she needs to look after and account for. She may have concerns for her own safety based on the fact that her survival is imperative for the continuation of her species. It makes sense that this would trickle down through the ages and may be an adaptive trait for Homo sapiens.

However, I’m not certain that women will always feel a man has to have ulterior motives if he simply chooses to complement her on her appearance. As stated, I generally will lend men the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason to feel otherwise about their intentions towards me. This is how I handle the situation on a personal level. It does not mean that every single woman in the world views it in this manner.

Personally, I don't really believe it. I have been the butt of too many practical jokes to take anyone who says that I am hot or cute very seriously.

Despite that...I've learned to say "thank you" anyway. Just taking the high road. If they are being jerks it's on their own karma or whatever you want to call it/believe in.

I usually tell them that they need to get their eyes checked or something.
