Jean, I haven't smoked any pot for ages, and Im just trying to light
things up. I have plenty of fun and I don't drink. Gimmie a break.

Did anyone ever say that you can't have fun unless you are high on pot?

Why are you being defensive? I wasn't even addressing you in the first
place.

And yes, certain people did at least imply you can't have fun unless you
smoke pot. And one not only implied, but stated outright, in typical
juvenile fashion, I might add, that perhaps because of my stance on this
issue, I "need to get laid." But it's a well-known fact, isn't it, that
every time a woman voices an opinion, particularly a strong and
intelligent one, it certainly MUST mean she "needs to get laid." LOL.
I've never heard such ridiculous bull**** in my entire life!

For anyone saying lighten up and tell jokes and all of that, is that
what discussions HAVE to be about all the time? If someone presents a
topic for discussion, is it supposed to be presumed that it's not
supposed to be taken seriously? Everything is to be made into a joke?

Well, I can joke around as much as the next person and am probably
wittier than most --that's what they tell me, anyway.

But I LIKE getting into involved debate and discussion about various
subjects. I enjoy things which stimulate my mind and I enjoy learning
new things about the world in which I live. So sue me.

I don't know; maybe it's the pot smoking that's clouding some's ability
to enter into a discussion that goes beyond "fire it up!" And to
elaborate on an issue and discuss the issue at hand without resorting to
insulting those who don't agree with them is just too much for them to
handle.

As far as the Autobahn...for one thing, in my post I mentioned both fast
and slow speeds. For another, this is the United States; this isn't
Germany and our intertates are not the Autobahn.

People have been driving on the Autobahn for years and are used to it.
MOST don't drive at excessively high speeds, either. It isn't speed
itself that kills, but you take a combination of speed, an
inexperienced, poor driver (and we have PLENTY of those here in the
U.S.), AND, on top of that, stick a joint in his hand, let him pop a
Xanax bar and a Bud tall boy on top of that, then what do you get? A
rather lethal combination.

Sorry to rain on whatever pothead in here doesn't like what I have to
say -- back in the day, I enjoyed getting high and drunk as much as you
did, believe me. But I still didn't deny the FACTS.

Don't tell me you can get high and then turn around and talk as though
it has absolutely no effect on you. If it didn't alter your state of
mind, then why even do it in the first place?

I'm not trying to be a fuddy dud here; I'm trying to discuss the facts
centered around a certain issue.

No, smoking pot does not MAKE someone stupid; there are those who are
plenty stupid enough without doing that. But it's not the most
intelligent thing in the world to do. That is my opinion and common
sense should prevail. Anytime you ingest any burning material into your
lungs, it's not "good for you."

So get high all you want; I'm not trying to take your joint away from
you. Just quit being in denial, is all I'm trying to say.

Have a nice day!

Bravo for you, Jean....
Well said and I do believe that the advertisements on TV are stating
that it is stupid for you to smoke pot or do drugs, for that matter.
Which sort of insinuates "that you are stupid if you do, do drugs" of
any sort!

The body will reject them at first, at least until dependency start in.
And once your body is dependent on it, well, the brain is too.

Old man who has inhaled, drinks & have done some drugs.

Pot like booze, in moderation can help your health
Pot like booze, abused can do permanent damage.

Personal opinion, legalize pot & prostitution.
Tax the hell out of it.
Make all other drugs a capitol crime.
Make all sex offenses a capitol crime.
Enforce the laws.

It is all a personal decision.

"Don't the Crime if YOU can't do the Time"

All very simple.

here's a documentary on marijuana. It's about 60 mins long. There's also
full length movies can be viewed for free legally here on this website
but they are B-movies lol the marijuana documentary is somewhat
interesting and informative.

jeanc actually it has been proven in medical studies for many uses in
the medical field one of which is that it shows promising results in the
alzheimers field

Glacoma, is just one. Cancer patients do chemo & radiation. There are
lots of things that in moderation won't hurt you.
There is a low level of ARSNICK (poison) in HoHo's. Extends shelf life.
(pardon spelling)

That may well be. So have a lot of other drugs. But what does that have
to do with being physically or psychologically beneficial for use in
moderation by the general public?

Tell me what benefits smoking pot has for the casual user who is not
using it for medicinal purposes.

For example, can you point me to studies that show it prevents cancer?
Can you point me to studies that show it prevents glaucoma or cataracts?
Can you point me to studies that show it prevents pain?

What benefits, for example, does it have on one's respiratory,
circulatory, or nervous systems?

What benefits does it have, psychologically? Show me studies from
reputable universities or other scientific arenas (not something from
NORML or similar) that state ANY health "benefits" whatsoever from
casual use of smoking pot.

In fact, show me ANY source ANYWHERE that states that ingesting smoke of
ANY kind (that, if nothing else includes noxious carbon monoxide) into
one's lungs is even remotely "beneficial" to the casual user.

"It relaxes me" is not a "beneficial use," when you consider the
long-term ramifications of its use.

And it's even more evident how "healthful" smoking pot is when you hear
the typical HACKING that accompanies it.

Again, I don't CARE who wants to smoke it ... but I find it amusing that
their defense for it is that it's somehow "beneficial" for them. You
want to get fkd up? Be my guest. That, in and of itself, might be
considered "beneficial," I suppose.

But most advocates for the legalization of pot don't give two hoots in
hades, really, about advocating for its medicinal use for cancer
patients, nor for its agricultural use.

All they care about is being able to get high, legally.

And I take issue to that because I don't think it's a good idea to make
yet ANOTHER mind-altering drug legal. At least now, while it's still
illegal, many people are staying off the streets and trying to keep it
under wraps.

For all these people who claim they are just casual, once-in-a-blue moon
users, well, that's great. But if they make it legal, they're not going
to make a distinction between the "casual users" and the "abusers";
they're not going to make a distinction between those who only smoke pot
and those who smoke it in combination with alcohol and other drugs.

And, even used alone, different people have differnt reactions to it.
People's brains, reactions times, etc., are affected differntly by it,
just as it would be by alcohol.

Got to look at the big picture, you know, and not argue that it's "Not
fair!" just because you or someone else happens to be a "responsible"
user.

And, no matter how "responsible" a casual user you may or may not be,
I've still yet to hear anything healthfully beneficial about it.

ya know...
a persons opinion is just fine...
be it right or wrong,it is theirs...

I'm not gonna pick apart the issues of toke like SOME did...
with all the copy/paste,and comment,

just because you have alot to say,and it does not match what somebody
else has to say,I'm not getting all butt hurt about it.

in fact it does show that somebody has way too much time on her
hands, and needs something else to vent on...

th sex comment was just as foolish as SMOKING POISONIVY...
and was my point...
not that YOU need to get laid,
not sure anybody would want it getting critequed or,
picked apart if it did not suite, just right...

and I'll say it one LAST TIME

you do NOT HAVE TO SMOKE it to enjoy it...

from the looks of things,
some people should not have ever smoked it...

with all th copy/paste going on,you think a person would read
what they are complaining about...

ok,we get it,YOU DON'T LIKE IT...

but YOU are not the only person here, with an opinion...

as stated in my opening comments,(barely skimmed over)

DRUG ABUSE makes people stupid...
closed minds,makes people ignorant,
and chosen ignorance,makes people stupidsmokin

Michael, who the hell said I was the only person with an opinion? did I
state that no one else has a right to voice their opinion on it?

The poison ivy comment was very much relevant; that you don't see how is
not my problem.

But you want a better example? Digitalis, which is derived from
Foxglove, is a NATURAL substance and is very beneficial for treating
certain heart arrithmyias (sp), etc.

However:

"The entire plant is a poison (including the roots and seeds), although
the leaves of the upper stem are particularly potent, with just a nibble
being enough to potentially cause death." (From Wikipedia).

My POINT? Just because it's "natural" doesn't mean it's GOOD for you.

DUH??

Now, why don't you reply by claiming I stated pot will kill you?

LOL.
