red that was my point lol just that i keep hearing legalize pot
everywhere.. not just here have i heard it, but the people that say that
usually <not always> are the ones whom use it already. so yea if they
legalize that all should be legalized is my point.

and no i dont use.... and i also just dont agree with legalizing it or
any of it. but if it ever happens they all should all be legalized.. for
if that is the reasoning to legalize in the first place.

motivation killer.at least it was for me and quitting the pot made
quitting the smoking of cigarettes easier cause i know every time i

smokin some people on here take things too seriously...you only have
one life live it how you want to and who cares what everybody thinks. if
you wanna lite one up knock yourself out!!there are alot worse things
to do out there than smoking a dube. if you like the reefer on a daily
basis and your life is in order (go to work everyday, pay your bills, be
independent) and your not hurting anyone else than whats the big deal?
some people go home after a hard day at work and have a glass of wine
and some people go home and relax by sparking up!

No problem bro! I've tried quittin the cigs, but everytime I get
stressed out, I reach for one as a matter of habit. Smokin weed has been
in my life for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time, 20 years. The longest I've gone
without was a month, and that was for my son, but then the baby-momma
pulled more of her BS, so I saw no point in quittin if I couldn't see my
boy when I was sober, ya know? I've been a habitual toker since I was
12, but first started at 8. Been a long while. Someday, maybe I'll quit,
but that'll be when I get my personal demons outta my head. My brain
races too much without it, and it slows my brain enough to make sense of
what I'm thinkin. I have ADD, and am a borderline manic-depressive, so
it helps out a lot. I'll probably quit tokin when I can get a
prescription for xanex, since that's the only "medicine" that I've found
that works better for my afflictions.

"Honestly, since this is supposed to be a "free" country in the US, they
should legalize all drugs and leave the people to make their own
decisions about em."

Well, sure...and we should be able to drive as fast or slow as we want
to on the highway, too, right? And we should be able to make our own
decisions about wearing safety belts, too, right? Nevermind that it's
been proven that, in most instances, they do save lives. That's not
important, so long as we can "make our own decisions!" That's the bottom
line, isn't it?

If one's decision to do drugs didn't impact society as a whole, I'd be
inclined to agree with you. That alcohol and tobacco is legal is a moot
point, as two wrongs don't make a right.

Of course, the government and corporate America certainly doesn't care.
The medical/pharmaceutical community are counting on people getting
high, driving fast, smoking, drinking -- in short, doing everything
possible so that their services are needed. And the insurance companies?
Ha! Multi-billion dollar industry. And a lot of that revenue is created
by exorbitant insurance costs as the result of alcohol- and drug-related
automobile accidents and alcohol- and drug-related illnesses.

Then let's not forget the funeral homes and related businesses, who make
plenty of money off of the hundreds of thousands of alcohol- and
drug-related deaths -- whether through illness or accident -- that occur
every single day.

Just for the record, I had this same stance even when I drank, smoked
cigs or pot, or got high. Just because I enjoyed a buzz back in the day
didn't mean I was oblvious to its detriments -- to myself, and to
society as a whole.

Not all drugs are legal. I mean sure there some over the counter drugs
so why not just make weed one of the? I mean yes I understand that there
are some strong ones that are not over the counter but weed is a natural
substance. It is not like every other drug out there. People have a mind
so let them use it. I have been smoking it now for a year now I stopped
for 8 years and just started again. No difference then unwinding with a
beer or somthing then unwinding with a joint. They both do things to
your body so there is not really any difference.

Poison ivy is a natural substance, but you'll never see me smoking it.
Of course, I'm EXTREMELY allergic, so it'd kill me if I did.

My point? That just because it's "natural" doesn't mean it's harmless.
Of course, that has little to nothing to do with whether or not someone
wants to get high -- until or unless your getting high infringes upon my
rights -- my right to breathe clean air, my right to drive without
worrying about some bozo in the lane next to me being high, my right to
not have to pay increased taxes or insurance fees because of
drug-related issues, etc., etc.

Jean, are this uptight all the time? And not wearin my seatbelt in my
last accident SAVED my life, so spare me all that. If parents would
RAISE their kids to be smart instead of lettin their kids get raised by
watchin TV, we'd be better off too. You have major animosity towards
this subject of drugs, were you refused them or somethin? You should be
a politician, since you think you know what's best for the people,
instead of listenin to them.

Yeah, lion, I damn sure hear ya. Hit me up sometime, I have some ?? for
ya. I'd rather not put them up since folks with a God complex might say
somethin else stupid about it.

Jean, are this uptight all the time?

Do you always go around saying snotty things to people whose opinions do
not echo yours? I'm not the least bit "uptight." I'm simply a realist.

And not wearin my seatbelt in my last accident SAVED my life, so spare
me all that.

STATISTICS show that MOST of the time, wearing seatbelts saves lives. In
my previous post, I never once said they ALWAYS do. So, by your
reasoning, because YOUR life was spared by not wearing a seatbelt,
therefore that PROVES that not wearing seatbelts saves lives. So spare
me all that.

If parents would RAISE their kids to be smart instead of lettin their
kids get raised by watchin TV, we'd be better off too.

I agree.

You have major animosity towards this subject of drugs, were you refused
them or somethin?

LOL..was I refused them? No, I wasn't refused them. Had you read my
previous posts you'd have seen that I admit to having done drugs before.
Doesn't mean that I'm stupid enough -- then or now -- to claim that
they're GOOD for you.

You should be a politician, since you think you know what's best for the
people, instead of listenin to them.

I think I know what's best for me and, as a taxpayer and citizen, I
should have the right to have a voice. Is this not an OPINION forum?
Well, I have given mine. You don't like what I have to say on the
subject, debate it all you want, but don't get personal and snotty about
it, ok? You have NO right.

I would be willing to bet you I can speak from a BTDT standpoint a hell
of a lot more than you can, so don't even "go there" with me, ok?

Driving after smoking even a small amount of marijuana almost doubles
the risk of a fatal highway accident, according to an extensive study of
10,748 drivers involved in fatal crashes between 2001 and 2003.

A study by the French National Institute for Transport and Safety
Research published in the British Medical Journal found that seven
percent of drivers involved in a fatal highway crash used marijuana.

The researchers estimated that at least 2.5 percent of the 10,748 fatal
crashes studied were directly caused by the use of marijuana.

The researchers concluded that the risk of being responsible for a fatal
crash increased as the blood concentration of THC, the active ingredient
in marijuana, increased. Even small amounts of marijuana could double
the chance of a driver suffering an accident, researchers said, and
larger doses could more than triple the risk.

The number of highway deaths contributed the smoking pot were
significant, even though they were dwarfed by the number caused by
drinking alcohol.

Medical Journal.
