Heroism and Bravery
"Why is it so cold?" An innocent girl asks She wouldn't understand It's what the world masks. She doesn't know why Why everyone seems to cry It's something few understand Why men must be sent to die. In a desert far away Heroes stand strong and tall Though dirtied with life The men are brave through it all. Perhaps this is what is needed A little discipline and war To make some people realize Life won't be like before. It's not that I was yelled at about it, but I have been told many times by some beautiful soldiers I know about Afghanistan, the "Forgotten War".
So while we are praying for our troops, say an extra prayer for those in Afghanistan. One of the soldiers I talk to on a daily basis there says Afghanistan is worse than Iraq, you just never hear about it. And now, with the pull out of our troops from Iraq pending, who is thinking about the men and women in Afghanistan? They are still there, fighting. And no one remembers them. So please, think of them once in a while, if you haven't before. I know I have forgotten them a few times. But they are risking their lives too. I think the reason why most of us have forgotten about Afghanistan is because you never hear abut it in the news anymore. For quite some time now, The "Alphabet" Stations have only really covered news from Iraq. What makes Iraq more important than Afghanistan? We are losing brave soldiers in both countries. They should have equal coverage and equal prayers. At least in my humble opinion. So, to end my little soap box, keep in your prayers ALL our troops. From ALL over (I think we have troops in China, England, Germany, etc.) Thank you. |

If ya love your freedom thank a soldier but also dont forget the ones here in the states. Your local Policeman/woman, Fireman/woman, or any other person that puts themselves in harms way to do whats right. In doing so you cover all aspects of a soldier not just the ones fightin overseas.

Thank is so beautiful, Mirror! I felt that way and still feel that way for every soldier I acquaint myself with. I try so hard to be at all their homecomings. I believe that every soldier should have someone there waiting for them at the airport. Regardless the reason why, I just know it feels good to have someone to come home to and someone to be there, excited for your arrival. to all our soldiers, and heroes, may you always have someone waiting for you to come home.
