my oldest son-- 18 just left for chicago yesterday for navy basic although i appreciated the men and women who serve our country...i appreciate them even more today!!! Oh .....Joyce... thank you so much for stopping by... and letting us know this about your Son... Our prayers & blessings are with him , my initial reaction when i read your post was that it is so wonderful to hear ... I am so proud & happy for him, but also sad & worried to hear of this, as i would be, if he were my own... I am sure you must be so filled with such proud yet painful emotion... My prayers are for you, as well... For you to be able to be strong and make it through this trying time |

I can imagine what you must be going through... My kids are older, but the feelings that we have for our kids never dim... they are always so strong... My kids & their spouses travel alot too, and it is seems no matter what they do, there is always a huge amount of risk... it is always so so emotional no matter what ... & now i have young Grandchildren, ... ages 14, 10 & almost 5 so i worry about them, too, in their daily events and when my own children were coming of age and just getting out on their own, ohhh, gosh...it was scary... like a Mama Eagle, watching carefully from above... having raised them well, and having given them all the tools i could, to make it on their own, and always trying to be there for them to guide them when needed... now all of a sudden, it was " show time " they were out there alone... flying on wind currents i had no control of and all i could do was to watch from afar... and hope they didn't crash against the rocky cliffs... and for many years after, and still, even now, while they are a lot more settled and in their early to mid thirties, I worry about them still..... i don't think it ever ends... Especially with all the demands on our lives, and how high risk so many jobs are... and with the population so high & so highly concentrated in so many areas, and traffic so crazy, everyone is taking such a high risk with our lives just getting around these days... My son drives a concrete mixer and he has to work long crazy fluctuating hours working on & building roads in the middle of the night on the freeways and roads, and i never stop worrying about Him and i am always concerned about my Girls & my Grandchildren Our Love for our Families is so very strong and it has no end so my heart goes out to you... I can only imagine what you are going through Our Sister Zanne's Son is in the Service too and it is very emotional for her. and that love & caring truly never ends My Mom is 78 and she still treats me like her little girl in so many ways soooo...please keep us posted & feel free to make this place part of your home and everyone here just chips in with prayers songs, poems, stories enlightening messages and heartfelt stuff & ways to keep Everyone, especially our Troops feeling very well, Acknowledged, Appreciated, Blessed, Loved, Prayed For & Spiritually Uplifted... |

The Promised Land Bruce Springsteen - On a rattlesnake speedway in the Utah desert I pick up my money and head back into town Driving cross the Waynesboro county line I got the radio on and I'm just killing time Working all day in my daddy's garage Driving all night chasing some mirage Pretty soon little girl I'm gonna take charge The dogs on Main Street howl ` cause they understand If I could take one moment into my hands Mister I ain't a boy no I'm a man And I believe in a promised land I've done my best to live the right way I get up every morning and go to work each day But your eyes go blind and your blood runs cold Sometimes I feel so weak I just want to explode Explode and tear this town apart Take a knife and cut this pain from my heart Find somebody itching for something to start There's a dark cloud rising from the desert floor I packed my bags and I'm heading straight into the storm Gonna be a twister to blow everything down That ain't got the faith to stand its ground Blow away the dreams that tear you apart Blow away the dreams that break your heart Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted |

Hey there, Everyone...
Hope your day is going well.. This is an email message i just got from a father online here on justsayhi/mingle2 Dad007... "please help me pray for my son in Afghanistan 101 Airborne, his name is Bryan like mine" So Lord God... I bring these needs & requests before You We lift up Bryan, in Afghanistan in the 101st Airborne and please bring blessings & comfort & rest to his Father Bryan, too I lift up Joyce & Her Son & Family I also pray for Zanne & her Sons and for all those who have Sons & Daughters & other Family members & Friends in the Military and I ask for Your Divine blessings on <<< Wiccan Cowboy >>> Will & his brother Jesse and all those who have returned home & all those who will be coming home i also pray for our Law Enforcement ~ Policemen & Firemen ~ EMT's & Paramedics, Emergency Room Technicians Doctors, Nurses, & medical staff people in other high risk positions of Service I pray that we all find love & peace in ourselves & radiate it outward & find that delicate balance for survival, so as not to tread on anyone's toes, but to survive comfortably... with just enough that we need & a little bit more... for good health & optimum growth & in others, & for peace & love to reign abundantly on this planet |

I love this one too... Thunder Road The screen door slams Marys dress sways Like a vision she dances across the porch As the radio plays Roy orbison singing for the lonely Hey thats me and I want you only Dont turn me home again I just cant face myself alone again Dont run back inside Darling you know just what Im here for So youre scared and youre thinking That maybe we aint that young anymore Show a little faith, theres magic in the night You aint a beauty, but hey you're alright Oh and thats alright with me You can hide `neath your covers And study your pain Make crosses from your lovers Throw roses in the rain Waste your summer praying in vain For a savior to rise from these streets Well now Im no hero Thats understood All the redemption I can offer, girl Is beneath this dirty hood With a chance to make it good somehow Hey what else can we do now? Except roll down the window And let the wind blow Back your hair Well the nights busting open These two lanes will take us anywhere We got one last chance to make it real To trade in these wings on some wheels Climb in back Heavens waiting on down the tracks Oh-oh come take my hand Riding out tonight to case the promised land Oh-oh thunder road, oh thunder road oh thunder road Lying out there like a killer in the sun Hey I know its late we can make it if we run Oh thunder road, sit tight take hold Thunder road Well I got this guitar And I learned how to make it talk And my cars out back If youre ready to take that long walk From your front porch to my front seat The doors open but the ride it aint free And I know youre lonely For words that I aint spoken But tonight well be free All the promises'll be broken There were ghosts in the eyes Of all the boys you sent away They haunt this dusty beach road In the skeleton frames of burned out chevrolets They scream your name at night in the street Your graduation gown lies in rags at their feet And in the lonely cool before dawn You hear their engines roaring on But when you get to the porch theyre gone On the wind, so Mary climb in Its a town full of losers And Im pulling out of here to win. |

Independence Day Independence day,or the fourth of July What is the name to me Independence Day,is a special day With lots of meaning for me The Fourth of July is another thing It is just another day While the Fourth of July may come and go Our Independence is here to stay Our Independence was won,by iron willed men Who had nothing special to gain They fought for their freedom, and that of their sons They fought through hardship and pain Valley Forge was a winter they had to endure And Many men died of the cold But the ones that survived were harder than steel An Army of the brave and the bold Cornwallis at Yorktown finally surrendered And our Army could call itself free So I'll never forget, our Independence And those men who got it for me More than 200 years,we're still Independent And more men have died for the cause Freedom is paid for,it never was free Each man is a terrible loss So I look at my flag, with all of its stars And the 13 stripes to the side I stand at attention, and snap a salute And I'm filled with a wonderful pride |
