If the topic does not interest you...then why post to make the person feel bad? I mean really....from my point of view, that only shows a lack of character. just my .02 Mark your so right on this statement if a post does not interest you then why respond to it. Or matter of fact why make statements about what these post are about and belittle them in other post. It does not matter if it is rate my profile, Hi or goodnight thread. If one does not have something nice to say why say it at all. My self I wonder at times how does that really make them look to others. For it does show how that person really is no matter how they try to hide it they do tend to show there true colors.

I kinda feel sorry for some people when i see no one responds to their threads so i sometimes will respond to be nice

I think threads of "substance" is different for each of us. Just don't read what you don't care for. Threads that go on for 50 pages saying hi how was your day are abundant but I don't have to read them, or the "I'm so cool look at me". If you don't like something, walk slowly away. I agree with Connie, what may not seem important to one, is important to the other, even if it's just trying to be recognized in the forums. We do move those threads to chat that are clearly chat, but at least we are giving new members a chance. Think of it this way....you don't like the i'm bored threads, i'm not fond of those myself, but as members they have the right to post them (preferably in chit chat) New members bring diversity to the threads, give them a chance to get comfortable here is all i'm asking.

Think of it this way....you don't like the i'm bored threads, i'm not fond of those myself, but as members they have the right to post them (preferably in chit chat) New members bring diversity to the threads, give them a chance to get comfortable here is all i'm asking. Never thought of it that way, Mark. You are right, as usual, you and Kristi both.

Some of us are just so opinionated..never thought of it this way. Yeh, I have been taking "nice" lessons from a friend of mine who is just too nice. In exchange, I give her "nasty" lessons because she needs to learn to stand up for herself. We are great friends because we are balancing ourselves out. I use to be a lot more rude and sarcastic than I am. If you think I am now, you should have known me a few years back. LOL Nope, you wouldn't have liked me. LOL JB

Nora, people are naturally opinionated, it's a difficult task sometimes to keep the peace. It's much like in life though, sometimes we just have to be forgiving, Think of it this way, say you are at a social function, a party or get together...and someone new walks in, although maybe somewhat clumsily...we don't throw them out right? unless of course there is something terribly wrong.

Yeh, I have been taking "nice" lessons from a friend of mine who is just too nice. In exchange, I give her "nasty" lessons because she needs to learn to stand up for herself. We are great friends because we are balancing ourselves out. I use to be a lot more rude and sarcastic than I am. If you think I am now, you should have known me a few years back. I think when you first come on here, you lose sight of the fact that there are people behind those pictures and you just say whatever will have a higher impact. After you are on here for awhile and have stepped on some toes and been spanked enough, you begin to realize that you have the power to hurt people's feelings; and you don't want to do that. So you tone it down. It takes time.

JSH before: friendly place where all the threads were friendly, and everybody was invited into the conversation. JSH now: close circles of friends, in close threads, where newbies are usually (read this word "usually" which means most of the times, but not always) ignored. Just my $0.02.......I agree, Miguel.... And to quote one of our other members: But what do I know. (and Miguel, you can yell and dump on me, like you told me to do to you)

I get ignored all the time and frankly it's rude but high school was so 27 years ago and I have flesh and blood human beings to talk to.Miguel we don't always agree but on this one I'm with ya my brother.
