if ya don't like someone's personality than just avoid the person jmo That's true ... i try to stay away from the idiots There are a small number -- fewer than a dozen, probably -- whose posts I simply never bother to read. But only about four of those are due to excessive cliquishness. The others are just due to sheer lack of content. There's very little entertainment or informational value in "I'm bored" or "Hi" or "How is everyone?" The 50,000th "I'm bored" post is not going to be radically divergent from te 49,999th. |

It seems like they think they are not allowed to say anything more than some variant of a greeting. How boring! They go on for pages, just saying hi. What is the point of it? |

Here's the thing Lex, if everyone could do as you do and not read or better still not respond to those posts where the only contribution is to belittle, then I feel many of the problems will go away. It will not eliminate individual agendas or heal personal animosities, but it will go a long way to making newcomers like soldiernTX feel more welcome. |

I've never been able to understand that, either. I do find it interesting that people will post "I'm bored," as if there's some inherent understanding that it's the job of all the rest of us to somehow entertain that person. But I don't remember signing up for that! In a world of a billions of things to do, a billion books to read, a billion movies to watch, a billion places to go and people to talk to, we have some who feel the need to enlighten us about how bored they are. Whose problem is that? Whose fault is that? |

I post whatever I want.. sometimes people respond, sometimes they don't. I still wake up each morning and live, no matter which they choose.
Some people are plain rude with everything, some just live to be mean to other people, some like taking their issues out on people, some like reminding others of their mistakes, some people are sweeter than honey, some people have this as their only social outlet, some people treat everyone equal, some people lie about everything including who they are, some people make up silly nonsense just to have something to say, some people are sick, some are gross, some are racist, some are prejudiced, some are smart, some are ignorant, some are dumb, some are funny, some are perverted, some are straight, some are bi, some are who knows what, some are gay, some are political, some are religious, some are spiritual, some are haters, some are without morals, some like to talk about life, some like to talk about death, some have weird fixations, some need to turn off their computers, some need a hug, some are really lonely and come here for solace, some like to hear themselves talk, some are retarded, some are short, some are fat, some are ugly, some are tall, some are gorgeous, some are empty, some are full... What I love best about here is if you're any of these things or more, you can post about it and find someone to talk to. There's always at least one person that will agree with you somewhere. Who cares about cliques. They're everywhere. Don't let them deter you from having fun and meeting cool people. |

I think sometimes people post threads when the current threads are slow.I post silly and serious threads.I sometimes post a thread just to be scarcastic about other threads i consider a waste of time

Ok, in reading through this, what peeves me the most is the ignoring of new members. I have to think of the best interest of the site, so heres the deal..... New members are cautious, a bit nervous i guess, but they want to fit in. They only want an icebreaker. Try and think back when you were new, remember? you wanted acceptance into the community. Most people do want to be accepted. I know a lot of these topics have been covered, but not by the newbies....i don't think it is fair to shame someone for asking a question. If the topic does not interest you...then why post to make the person feel bad? I mean really....from my point of view, that only shows a lack of character. just my .02 |

To be Amber (cuz my name's not Frank), I say hello to the newbies whenever I see one, but the meek little threads rarely peek out between the monstrous posts of look at me, look at me... so I don't see them too often.

Mark- I remember being new but what I did was come in here and crack everybody up. I made it so they couldn't ignore me. I didn't wait for an invitation or for anyone to give me a chance. I streamrollered my way in and made them listen.

I met a newbie in a thread a few weeks ago -it was her second post, I think ;and we are now fast friends. It does happen. |

Sometimes it's too easy to get distracted by the "I added three commas and a semicolon to my profile, so please go rate it for the eleventh time today" threads. |

I think threads of "substance" is different for each of us. Just don't read what you don't care for. Threads that go on for 50 pages saying hi how was your day are abundant but I don't have to read them, or the "I'm so cool look at me". If you don't like something, walk slowly away.
