I wonder how people feel about investing 12 years of their life to education, but come out with as much of an education as it takes to flip hamburgers at McDonald's//So ya mean I went to school for 12 years to start at the bottom. I feel the biggest thing we could do for the citizens of these United States is to provide a better education system so that starting at the bottom becomes a thing of the past, You give people entitlement money ya feed them monthly give them a better more advanced education and you give them the ability to make money.. You hear all about these companies that can't find the skilled workers you incorporate these companies into the education system which for the schools would become financially better for them as well because the companies would be investing in the schools as well To me the education system is old and outdated and that if you don't advance the people at better pace more conducive with the times then you will just start them as a fry cook in some dank nowhere job ... Someone else paid the $150,000 for that k-12 education and someone has to flip burgers if McDonalds or any service based industry is going to exist. Half of all people working in the US have worked at McDonalds, and if that is all you get out of your education maybe YOU are the one that needs to put more into it, not the system. Are you saying people should start at the top and then work their way down so by the time they are retiring they are McDonald employees? Because someone has to do it unless you think we should bring in foreigners to do any and all entry level jobs. People chose what they make of things, their are many successful people in the US, there are many hardworking people who are doing pretty good in the US, and there are many that just don't put out the effort to do better than to flip burgers at McDonalds. Should we. Punish those who do good and reward those who chose to do the minimum to get by? Should people be in school and retired longer than they work? And who's going to pay for this? |

Then surely an "educated" person would see it as a table decoration? I'm watching an old black and white film at the moment, called the dambusters, made in 1954 about the royal air force bombing the dams in Germany. so, the lead guy has a black labrador and its name is the n word. yes offencive these days but not back then. This is a true story, should it be changed or told as it was? It's not a nice word I agree and it wouldn't be used these days. Well someday noone will own pets because that takes the freedom of animals away. The circus as we know it is already done for and the zoos are feeling the pressure too. I bring this up because slaves were similar to pets back in the day. They were expected to do what their owners wanted them to do, and were disciplined when they didn't. We have to remember that not everyone owned slaves. In the US it was only allowed in the south, the few that owned plantations had them, some wealthy families had some as servants, and a few farms that wouldn't be considered plantations had them. Like pet most were taken care of as such, it was to the owners advantage to take care of them. However like pets a few people choose to abuse them in an effort to get them to do as they wanted. The mostly white people of the north United States decided it was not right for people to own these people, thus the civil war which freed these people. The owners were upset because of their financial loss, and most of the slaves were now homeless and unemployed so they ended up going to work for the people that owned them. The Confederates (the south) was upset by losing their territory as they did not want to become part of the union, so the Confederate Flag isn't directly a "slave" thing, but more of a territory thing that has become to mean different things to different people. So in the end white people brought the slaves to the US. White people freed them from slavery. White people employed those of them that wanted to be employed. There for all white people are responsible for all bad things with the exception of those white people who also have at least some black in them (aka Barak Obama) who seem to ignore their "bad heritage" so they can go look at me, I'm a victim, oh poor me. that said alot and nothing, all at the same time.... If you haven't noticed the last 200+ post have said a lot and nothing all at. the same time as do most mingle posts. Discrimination is a thing on many levels in this day and age, but "slavery"as in the context of this story has been over and done with for enough generations that should not have an affect on peoples life in this day and age and should not be used as a crutch. Many African Americans would not be living the life they are living if those slaves were never brought to the US but it still seems to be an issue for many that have gotten more good then bad |

When I go to Thanksgiving I expect turkey and stuffing. If there is ham I'm like WTF its not Easter! I think they were probably trying to keep things "traditional". It would be weird to serve sushi and rice unless that was mentioned ahead of time. What seems more offensive to me is that they had "Latino"night, then they had "African American" night. Why do we need "special" nights for different cultures? Did they also have a "whites only night"? I mean we have to keep things equal on all levels right? What was the center piece on "Asian" night? Things like minority quota's and the African American college fund are set to give others advantages that do not apply to all people, isn't that considered offensive?

It is not politically correct to judge other cultures and religions on what they do. I would make a comment on Muslims treatment of women, or certain Asian treatment of girls, but being that we are Global now we should accept whatever happens and understand that not everyone thinks or acts the same and Western Society should not reign the world with their belief system.

oh, where is your knowledge from? working amongst those on assistance? Being on assistance? Living in a community of neighbors on assistance? OR maybe actually STUDYING information that different departments provide about assistance? It seems my comment on the just needing attention stereo type hit right on the numbers that time. Do you really think about what others are saying before you post replies? I think its pretty clear what I'm saying, and every time you claim everyone is the victim and noone is responsible for their actions I will continue to say you have no clue what happens in the "real world". |

Well I can't find anything with clear cut numbers on how much they get, I live in a state with very good welfare benifits and I've heard various numbers here and there. Like most things the government doesn't really want us to know what is spent and on what. They also don't give real good numbers on those actually receiving the money. The medical expense is actually low of what I would have to pay every month to get health care with no deductible and I'm sure Medicaid and state heath care averages even more than that per person due to some of these people are truly disable and need more medical attention than the average population. You think the grass is so much greener on the other side, but for some reason you won't leave your box to check. I think out side the box and look at the big picture, I go after anything that's wrong in all races, religion, political circles, genders, ect. You have to understand the wrongs in order to right them, it may seem radical to some "politically correct" people, but there is no way to solve a. problem unless you can see a problem needs to be solved.

where are your numbers from and what do you consider 'living off' tax dollars? TANSTAAFL welfare comes from the state and the federal taxes, but that still doesn't answer my questions regarding where the numbers given are from or what he defines as 'living off' of (as opposed to merely receiving) for example, I 'receive' roughly 500 a year from my ex, Id hardly say I can or do 'live off' of it though. Well let's start with health care with no deductible, that is worth about $600 a month. Then lets look at section 8 housing, that's probably about $800 a month. EBT or food stamps is probably $240 a month and. there is a cash payout each month too. Then they get an earned tax credit, that means they get more money back from taxes than they paid in. If they have children they get more money from each of the above along with $1000 tax credit for each child. There is a reason people on welfare can run around with new iPhones. Ya you have to give somethings up, but for those who know how to live off the system they do pretty well for not having to work. From income tax, sales tax, property tax, social security and Medicaid that takes over 30% of my wage, that doesn't include the fact my employer also pays tax on my income along with all the other hidden taxes on things I buy paid by the producers. The politicians don't understand where the money comes from that they keep wasting. |

What if someone had a party for jewish guests and put gas masks on the table? I dont think the natural response would be to point out that jewish people were not the only ones to wear gas masks.
This is a typo, correct? I don't recall Jewish people during the holocaust wearing them.. j/s I'm thinking if you have Jews over you would have to remove the oven from your house. So were these "African Americans" served fried chicken and watermelon? Is it wrong to use pussywillows in a center piece because women an wimps may be offended? I find that most black people seek attention and they are always trying to get something from others. Was watching ABC during hurricane Irma and the showed some black youth helping themselves to some new Nikes from a store they broke the window out of. And they will even shot each other to get a pair of shoes. I don't understand why they think they should get respect when they don't show respect. |

Most people living off the government (our tax dollars) are already getting more than $1000 a month when you add up food stamps, rent credits, cash benifits, heath insurance, and tax credits. If we want to make it truly socialism we should put them in government housing with strong restrictions, give them only a bag of rice, loaf of bread, box of dry milk, and other limited foods. If they can't work they shouldn't be having sex, and having babies (if they can do that there is no reason they can't work) Put them on birth control or sterilize them. If you can't feed your children or put a roof over their heads that's child endangerment (women or men) emigrants need to work and pay taxes or be deported, no more free rides, and no more free college. If you want something get a job and pay for it. It cost about $150,000 to send a child to school K-12, if you chose to be unproductive or leave the country you should be required to pay that back. Certain prisoners should be forced to serve in the military, others should be put to work doing other things, and a few lifers should die, they have no purpose to society.
Its tough with the increasing number of aging Americans, many have paid into social security for years and the government has chosen to spend that money on other things. Maybe we can put some of the unemployed people to work helping seniors, we should allow seniors more options to work even if for a reduced wage and not penalize them for doing so. Sooner or later the dollar is going to become worthless as the government continues to spend money it doesn't have, however like the economic crash of 2008 the US is "to big to fail" and it would crash the world economy if the dollar failed. Its time to start paying down the debt instead of continuing to add. And the.only way to do it is to get rid off the freeloaders. |

beleivers will probably always believe they are living in the "last days" regardless of what era they live and that is in biblical scripture I did not always believe it, until the flurry of changes to basic principles began to come one after the next and so close together...in the past ten years or so from changing the roles of marriage, the roles of men and women, the definition of man and woman, to the flurry of excuse for violence and rudeness, to electing a man who was so blatantly offensive and praising him for it, to the increasing frequency of natural disasters in the USA, and the global self fascination of being always 'connected' and bragging on oneself or putting down someone else on the world wide web,,,, If that is how you truly view things you may want to spend a little more time in the "real world" and a little less time on the "www". Go back and look at history, look at what was going on in the 60's, its been around for a long time and with age comes an awareness of how annoying others can be. In your little "www world" everything is inhanced, and in a shorter form that is raiser to absorb. The end will come for everyone someday, just some sooner than others, and most cannot predict how it will end at this time. Remember this question was asked by lucif, is that short for Lucifer? Is it the Devil trying to get into our heads? Or do people believe what the chose to believe and tell everyone else they are liars? |

Think about it, they took all of the mercury filled thermometers that were "too polluting"away from us and then turned around and put it in light bulbs that they forced us to buy. The reason your appliances only last 10yrs now is they want you to update to the latest most efficient newer models, as they try to lighten loads on the electric grid leaving open power to charge our cars. But what they don't understand is it will need a major overhaul to handle these loads. Batteries are becoming more efficient with technology, but over heating and fires are a big issue. Hydrogen (electric and water) is a better option, but it all has to do with who wants what. The Hindenberg blimp that burnt made everyone afraid of hydrogen, but it seems that the dopeing compound was the real issue, hydrogen can be safe and reliable. The US had planned to get 40mpg to 50mpg from all cars by now, and if it were left to the right people that could happen, however they keep the 15mpg SUVs that people love so much. Europe is way ahead of the US on efficient cars and appliances, but it has a lot to do with what corporations, and people what and do with things. I'd buy an electric car if it were affordable, self driving, and looked good. All of those things are possible, but we are not going to be hovering around like the jet sons anytime soon.

I come from a place where Al Frankin is a Senator ( even tho not very good at it, or comedy) Jessey Ventura was our governor (did pretty good for an outsider), and remember Ronald Regan was an actor before gov of California then President of USA. I say give the KID a chance, he may seem like a phucking joke searching for attention, but a lot of things in Michigan need changing and sometimes you got to stir the pot to get things done!
