Carol I was surprised at the show last nite. Wow, it was great. My son was goin nuts because I was singing along to all the classics..laugh
I am not happy about who won though. Sigh. I just don't think Kris has a great voice. It is ok for soft pop though I guess.

Hello,
Where I live, smoking would be the deal killer. And...who wants to be Barbie? I haven't met any Ken's lately. I think we are too hard on ourselves. Everyone has something that would be a "deal killer" for someone else. I think that if I am meant to be with someone else it will happen. If not, I hit the lottery once with the husband I had, so that's pretty good! (He passed away in 2002).

Hi Cinann:smile: I haven't seen you here before, so welcome!
You were very lucky to have had a loving relationship. I see so many here in the forums who have had that, and I feel sad I haven't...but who knows about having it in the future! Smoking is a deal breaker for me. I was married to a smoker and now I have asthma (the dr said it was 95% probable that is how I got it because he was a chain smoker). I have some good male friends who are taking care of their parents..and that just fills me with awe. You know that type of person has to have plenty of love, patience, and respect. Those are great qualities for any kind of a relationship! It tells someone that they believe in committment, it shouldn't scare someone off.

Ok I have already found out that having a 7 year old daughter at 52 will most likely keep me single and alone for the next few years and thats cool.
But.....we are the sandwich generation so what about aging parents that live with some of us in our 50's. Deal breaker also? Wish mine were still around but they aren't, but would love to hear the comments on this one.
Lets see I am not doing well here; I am widowed, I have a small child, I smoke, I am not Barbie, I won't have sex on the first date.
I dont ride harleys, I dont have provocative pics on my profile and I am thick (love that new phrase). Maybe I should just go back to bed and or go get a BOB. LOL not on your life I am not a quitter he is out there and I love a challenge.
Thoughts anyone???

I have one child left at home who will be 15 soon. Believe me, I have had many men tell me they want to be free to run when and where, and they want their lady to be able to do that too. The good thing is, they let you know fast how they feel, so there is no waste of time on either person's part. I haven't heard the term thick...hahaha. Well, I am thick also. Men have told me, you are pretty even if you are heavy, but then they run off with the slim ladies. Shrugs. I agree with you, there is someone out there for all of us. I am not sure about meeting him in a personal's site, but I think if it is meant, it is meant, no matter where you are. And pssst... go ahead and buy that bob:wink:

waving missed you Kathi :)

 Thanks Carol, it's always nice to know that someone notices you! I have just been pooped out lately, starting early and working til I have to cook dinner. After that, I can barely move, and I usually don't!
I've lived in condo's and townhomes no yards to take care of :) I had to do all that work growing up :) No man no yard :)

Lately I have been questioning why I bought a house. My latest problem is the handles in the bathtub are leaking. Used to be, all you had to do was remove it and put in a washer, now I can't even get the handle off, and then I have to unscrew something and then replace whatever is inside. (see how knowledgeble I am?noway) I am afraid to start it, because if I break it I will have to tear out the wall to replace everything.tears

I work lunches in a restaurant. 11 to 4 not bad. But your starting to see it getting slow since I came back after breaking my foot not a good sign.

sad2 People just are scared to spend money right now, or they don't have it to spend. I hope things get better soon. I used to waitress, but am not sure I could even do that now. You must have strong arms...and a great personality.

on your pickup bumper lol

but i dont have a pick up

i have a motor home

and the lant would drag on the ground hanging from the bumper

Hang it from the rack that I see on many of the motor home roofs.
If not there, then open a window and hang it there. When you have to move the motorhome, then hang it in the bathroom shower stall

good morning everyone!

<<<Nods at Sage, I read last nites too, and I did reply to one of them. I just keep in mind that God knows where I should be.(although at times I do lose sight, since I am human). It doesn't mean sit in a corner and vegetate, but it does mean that he knows when and where our lives go if we ask and actively participate.
You have all heard the joke about the man on the roof?
His house and land was flooded and the water was rising. He prayed to God, 'oh lord help me with my problems'. A boat came along, and he said, no thanks I am waiting for God to answer me. Along came a helicopter, and he told them, no thanks I am waiting for God to answer me. He prayed harder, 'please God help me'. And God replied, you were so busy praying for help, that you didn't see all the help that I sent.flowerforyou
We need to remember that our prayers are answered in different ways, and they may not be the ways that we think they should be. If we keep our eyes and hearts open, we do get through anything, even if it seems like a mountain at the time.
hugs to youflowers

((((treasa)))))

guys, i had a really hard day todaytears tears tears tears tears tears Old mr depression really hit me hard. i am so lonely and my kids just don't understand why i can't have women friends. tiff says i don't need a man in my life, but she just doesn't understand, and i hope she doesn't have to find out first hand to understand. i am the kind of person who needs a man, i've never been without one. i need to hold hands, and get got old hugs. i such a large heart that needs someone to help fill it up. does that sound stupid on my part? I'm just that way, a lot of love inside and i need to share it with someone. thanks for being my sounding board peopletears tears tears . Maybe tomorrow i'll have a better day, i claim victory in JESUS name!!!!

We are all different. I was with my husband from the time I was 14. I never experienced being "ME". I went from a little girl to a wife to a mommy. Although I miss Bernie more than I can put into words, I am also enjoying finding "ME" and it's a real eye opener. Sure, I miss the hugs and companionship, but I am also enjoying the new me. I feeel if God wants me to find another great love like I shared with Bernie, He will send him my way.

Best of luck to you!

It's just that the quiet can be so deafening some times. I know if GOD has someone for me, HE'll send him my way. I married at 16 and have never been alone, except 22 months. I'm not going to get ahead of GOD, i know better than to do that. i went and talked to my preacher and his wife this afternoon, they both said they don't know how i've done it without going crazy. if it hadn't been for tiff and scott moving back here and having landon here for me, i probably would have already left the area. scott is taking a job as bank branch vice-president so they will not have to move for another job, THANK GOD for that, i don't know what i'd do if they moved and took landon away from me. probably pack up and move with them, wow, they wouldn't like thatlaugh laugh

I'm going through some pretty lonely times too, that is why I am soooo glad I found this site. All of my best friends moved out of state, and my last 2 kids finally left the nest, now it's just me and my critters. First time in my life that I have been alone. One thing that I am so very blessed for is that all 5 of my kids live within minutes of me and I have 10 wonderful grandbabies to spoil and love. I just wish I had a best friend again to hang with instead of my kids all the time! That to me is lonely!

Mary, I totally understand! All my close friends I had yrs ago got scared away by my ex. Then I made some new friends, but moving really put a crimp in that. I have my son, and my daughter..but she is moving 1 hour away at the end of next month. Then I will be totally alone, and it is scary.
