To me, a hero is someone who sacrifices themselves without thought for themselves, strictly for the benefit of others.

I always hesitate to label people in dangerous careers as heroes, since they are compensated for those actions and accept those risks in a contract for pay.


My first heroes are my parents, because they sacrificed and struggled so much to try to give us a decent life and education during very antagonistic social times, especially my dad, who loved my brothers as his own.
