Any system based on race or putting one race over another is by its nature, racist. Even if it is done for the best reasons.Hiring should be done based purely on ability, not to fit a particular race or gender category.

In your perfect world Soj, it would be wonderful if everyone got along, there was no crime or pain or suffering, poverty and many other things..but when you wake up from your dream, reality is something very different then your vision...I wish it weren't so, but it is...and always will be..

I am a conservative, I do not listen very often to Rush, he is not my leader and like you said sing, he is a shock jock, and he does his job well. You have the option of not listening to him.. a novel concept, but it works.

I too am not an expert on the subject, but didn't the founding fathers of this country limit the time served, and made it a volunteer position in the beginning??

It is hypocracy to see them chastise private business leaders about their benifits and yet heap the benifits on themselves such as pay after they are out of office, Airforce jets to carry them around and other bennies that the common folk don't get.

Instead of selling out our generations to follow with his brilliant plans of socialism, why doen't obama get behind the "Fair Tax" proposal, it would eliminate federal income tax, the IRS, payroll taxes and taxes against business.. Giving you more of your money, providing enough money for what is truly necessary and will infuse 15 trillion dollars of stimulus by bringing manufacturing businesses back to America, and providing wages that will boost the blue collar workers in America... If he truly wants to be fair.. Any opinions??

It used to depend on who was in control of the government..In the old days I trusted Republicans to do the right thing and I don't trust the Democrats, they just continue to socialize America as they have been trying to do for years. I used to trust the republicans before they were in complete power and became republicrats, I used to trust them to provide for the protection of our country and fight the enemies, but now I trust them to become even more like democrats that want to take more of my money away from me, take my guns away from me, try to take my religious beliefs away from me as well. I also trust them along with democrats to infringe on my rights and pass more laws that go against my constitutional right as free citizens...I don't trust them to rediscover what America has always been, and can become again, a Great Nation of Free People, Free market ideals, where those that work hard, make the right choices and do the right things can acheive the American Dream..

Obama's promise of changing our schools causes me to look at Chicago and see just how he changed them there. Are the schools in Chicago better off today then they were when he was influential in that area?? Did they promote the good teachers and get rid of the bad ones?? I haven't checked myself, but doubt that any of the urban, democrat controlled school systems have done anything over the last 20 years that have made attendance go up, graduation rates go up or kept kids in school at a higher rate. These are systems that the powerful unions control, and unless he can tame them, nothing is going to change our school systems. In Washington State, there have been programs that have tried keeping kids in school year around, and they have failed and stopped. Charter or voucher schools are the solution, but nobody; teachers, unions and politicians want to promote those schools since the union money can't control them. Obama just has to make you feel like he is doing something to be sucessful...remember like Clinton, he feels your pain, he understands your frustrations, he desires to make the changes but it takes more then that to make it happen..

Did you offer past presidents the same benefit that you are asking for with this one??

What is a shame is that things like NAFTA and environmentalism have driven our heavy manufacturing out of the country and along with it, family supporting jobs..

Not only that, but once something become public, do we have the right to discuss it..comment about it??? Have we fallen that far where public discussion and comment are against the law??? Not yet anyways!!

I guess I am in the minority then, I belive it was about UN violations that they brought on themselves..

I may not agree with his Marxist views, but I don't condone violence toward him either..
