High school gym class
|
|
During the few weeks that I attended high school before dropping out as a 9th grade freshman, I didn't participate in gym activities. Myself and the couple of others sitting out loitered around in the gym during that period. One memorable incident that I experienced, was when one of the others sitting out pulled a joint out of his pocket and tried to convince me to hold onto it. I declined.

Do mother's teach men to ...

My Mom taught my sister and I some cleaning basics, and required us to participate in chores. Though, we weren't ever regimented or consistent with routine tidiness. I don't remember Mom instructing us in cooking when we were kids. We did sometimes participate in food prep and cleanup after meals.
I know how to clean and maintain a living space. But, I'm still not regimented or consistent with tidiness. I'm comfortable in the kitchen, and capable of preparing and cooking simple meals. |

Welcome to mingle, Rose.
An intriguing introductory post. Meditation sometimes alters my state-of-mind. Have you had experiences that fit your criterion? |

RIP Leslie West

Leslie was a hard rock pioneer. His influence will live on.

My family and I enjoyed seeing him live at Silver Springs here in Florida about 15 years ago. He's been a favorite of my Mom's for decades.
I think he performed at this years live, maskless, CMA show. His talented pioneering presence will be missed. |

Masters teach what Generals fail to hear.
Yet, who plans best for war? Who plans best for peace? Masters teach faint words, Generals speak loud swords. Yet, who shuts down doors? Who brings down lords? Masters sees with brain, Generals lead with cane. Yet, who had innocents slain? Who has kept the sane? Masters know where we are to go, all the solemn places, the whereabouts tranquility. Silence heard from far above, the endless chanting, the sober caravans. Heads bobbing...widely eyes...calmness...warmness...fruitful...truthful. Hearts divine...love divine...all in one; soul, human – the humanity. Without wisdom's clarity, megaphones just squeal. Untempered saber-rattling, inflicts wounds tough to heal. |
