My main pic is from right around 3 years ago. Since it was a semi-"professional" pic, and it's still a very good representation of me, I still like using it.

Second one is from January this year.

Third one (w/ sunglasses) was taken in Oct '04, but since that time, it's always been one of the ones I've actually liked of me.

Perhaps there will be more forthcoming in the future, but I don't put up pics that I don't like, so we'll see.

most men have learned this by the first grade

you will never ever win an argument with a woman

and if you DO she'll make you regret it the rest of your life

or at least if she can't make you regret it herself, she knows one of her "sisters" will eventually ... women have a sort of collective mentality in this regard.

Yep ... some of the most pretentious, elitist, self-important people I've ever been around.

This is true. But, becoming a member impresses employers.

Oh well ... I'm not gonna hang around a bunch of boors just so some squirrel in a suit behind a desk can get a hard-on about me being able to add that to my resumé. indifferent

"Whose to say that its you to blame
It's the people above you
The ones who say that they love you
Look what the world has come to
So now its time to say **** you!"

Have you ever seen the rebellion of multiple different people and wondered what would happen if they banded it all together and used it as one instead of by themselves? Do you think that anger and rage is better focused on a common goal? Would that goal be easier to achieve if all the resentment was put into that one goal and used by millions?

That would kinda be like when the black people had to fight for equality, they did it collectively, and they were full of rage, but they did it mostly peacefully, and sometimes not so peacefully. Am I right or wrong?

Sorta like the Million Man March in Washington.

The problem is, the people who are now at the forefront of those issues are behaving as if nothing has ever gotten any better, when that is just so clearly not the case. Not saying that all the problems have completely gone away, but to act as if we're still in the antebellum days is ridiculous. The only logical reason for those specific people to be ginning up the hatred and envy that they do is because if they admit that their issues have improved by leaps and bounds, their lives might not have as much meaning anymore - or at least, their "life's work"!

u mean a union?

Collective goals, unions have their own set of goals that differ from the members of that union. At least that's how it is in the states, different out there across the big blue?

I'm talking about an uprising, collectively geared in one direction with one goal.
this whole younger generation has it all backwards, they lost all respect

NOT true...the younger generation has realized that so many of the so-called "ideals" of their parents were really just ways to discriminate or keep people down. they are seeing through the falsehoods and changing the future.

respect is earned, not just given.

I'm sorry, but I do have to address this. While I will wholeheartedly agree that respect is earned, not just given, I have to disagree about the rest of it. These so-called "ideals" that you speak of....let's have a bit of a look at some of those.

The crime rate is higher today than any time in history.
The divorce rate is higher today than any time in history.
Court battles (people suing, as well as being sued) are higher today than any point in history.
Jails and prisons are overcrowded, more than any time in history.
Gays are coming out of the woodwork, looking for their piece of the "equality" pie, more than any time in history.
Gangs and violence are more prevalent today than any time in history.
Juvenile delinquency is higher today than any point in history.
Inflation is higher today than any point in history.
Plain old stupidity has consistently increased to an all-time high.
Education is at an all-time LOW.
Personal accountability is at an all-time low.

The list is endless.

My point is, up until the point when all of these "ideals" started to be questioned, the problems we face today didn't exist. Sure, there were SOME problems, but certainly not to the extent they've become in today's world. Now, we're all hip-deep in sh!t, and people are wondering what went wrong, what happened.

NOTE: This is NOT directed at you personally, just to the topic in general.

A lot of that can be associated with the economy, I will admit the 90's saw a spike of a lot of that. But again, there is no use in blaming one side or the other as that won't solve the problem.

Not really ... the things Mr_Music (Keith, right?) mentioned have been declining pretty rapidly since at least the '60s, no matter the state of the economy, no matter who was (allegedly) "in charge", etc. Not saying that everything was perfect and idyllic before then, but not all "change" is good, either. [I think we've seen some major examples of that here very recently.]

Not that I want to punch the man, but I was curious so I did try. It brought up a few IQ questions...and then asked for my cell number. I didn't give it of course. The little gloves don't even throw a punch!

I hadn't tried it, but after finding out about that, I wouldn't want to. What the heck good is it if you can't even see him getting the snot beat out of him? grumble rant grumble rant grumble

This is just another thought......

Oh no, Mom is still holding out that a miracle will happen and I'll give her "blood line" grand babies. Although, it is not physically possible... hence the "miracle" comment.

And as for knowing me, she doesn't and never has. She knows what she wants to know, made up or real.

On the religious aspect, she "told" my family we were becoming Catholic when I was 12. Although I went along with what I was told to do as a child, I never really conformed. However, as an adult, I chose my own path, much to her regret. That's not going to change. Period.

The biggest thing for her is control. She is a control freak to the Nth degree. Always has been. Now that I have severed the ties of her control, she still strikes out from time to time in an attempt to regain that control. Ain't happening! bigsmile

I honestly don't want to embarrass my Mom, but sometimes there comes point when you have to resort to drastic measures. I'll gauge things when I get there. I'm going down Thursday evening to Texas and we'll see what happens by Saturday.

She also knows I'm online. She just thinks I need to be on a "wholesome" site, rather than the "sludge of the earth" (her words, not mine) that I'm currently surfing. rofl

I'm doing my best at looking at this positively, but this isn't the first time she's done this. Last time was extremely uncomfortable for everyone involved except her.

That's what makes Phuque's idea so interesting ... it might just become less comfortable for your mother. devil

Not that my mom would ever try to "fix me up", but the basic meddlesomeness is why I don't mind living most of the way across the country from my family. I only have to see them once (maybe twice) a year.

Jif is my fav of all peanut butters. For this I make no apologies. I will even go as far as to say "to me Jif is the only peanut butter". I'm eating it now with a banana, but I do this after agonizing over my other choices such as Welch's grape jelly, dill pickles, or Hellmann's.

I would appreciate any guidance I could get on this matter.

Thank you in advance, sincerely a Jif addict.

I had a quasi creepy situation happen too but not quite as specific.

In one year, all the guys I met, that I became interested in dating, were all Virgos. what That didn't dictate whether I would date them or not -- but it was weird.

I'd say over-look it and see if he is worthy of you.

Coincidence is a goofy thing ... drinks

You're brave, I can NOT handle Virgos  slaphead

My best friend is a Virgo. I love him to death but he is a pain! tongue2

I don't do well romantically with Virgos, but again, I try not to let that dictate who I date. Patterns are just that -- patterns; however, not enough for me to put the de-flecto shield up again all Virgos!

I wouldn't let it stop me from being with or dating someone but I can usually tell with in 5 minutes of knowing a guy if he is a Virgo or not frustrated

And just how is it that you can tell that ... hmmmmm? huh

Oh, and ... shut up, Dan! bigsmile

Thank you all for your help. I am not insane....LOL

Why cant we call out the names or ID's of the people we find are game players or hiding that they are married?

Well, here's one reason -- what would you do in a situation where Person A got angry with Person B, for whatever reason, and decided to try to ruin their reputation on the site?

See, we don't KNOW that things happened exactly the way someone says they did -- there could be underlying ulterior motives for this sort of accusation.

As a practical matter, it's best not to allow the naming of names in the first place.

Wait ... you mean that I can't rely on the complete, 100% truthfulness of everything I read online? Pshaw, I say! It just can't be true!
