I finally got a fish! I've had my aquarium set up for over a couple of months. I wanted to get the water set up right before getting any finsh.

I got a Giant Danio. I don't know if it's a male or female. How can you tell?

I'm trying to take a picture of it on my phone, but it keeps coming out blurry for some reason. If I can get a good pic, I'll post it.

Have you named it yet? I had a huge fancy tail goldfish once...I named it Errol Finn...

I have never had much luck with fish...I have to have something a little tougher as a pet....like a horse...

Males are more elongate but smaller with more intense coloration. With fish the males are almost always smaller and much prettier than the females.

I have the same fishy. you can tell by the strips.. I forget what they say but you can do a little research bout it.

is your fishy crazy? we have 6 of them an they love to play with the current from the filter.

I think he's still getting familiar with his new home. I have a fake tree stump, bubble curtain and filter. He was sitting in the corner by the heater and filter for a little while, now he's swimming around.

congrats.. fish are theraputic!!

yeah ours did the same at first, give him/her another day, she/he should be swimming like crazy soon. They are too funny at times.
