"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.

Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference

I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator.

We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That's not leadership. That's not going to happen

We need earmark reform, and when I'm President, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely

You will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

"That’s just how white folks will do you.

"I found solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race."

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join me as we try to change it."

What garbage. It is ashame the lengths people will go to try to make lies the truth.

Really it is just ridiculous.

he said it...I didn't !!...google it...it's right out of the mouth of Van Jones...I mean Barack Hussien Obama

It is taking a small portion of what was said and making sound like it means something else. Garbage like I said.

but...he said it...

maybe it's where I live. the racists people that I hear from around hear don't hide the fact that they are racist because they see nothing wrong with it (which goes for all races)

I dated a man that didn't show any signs of being racist. Then...after the election, he tells me that he's a Democrat but he voted for McCain because he didn't want any black man in the White House. I was stunned. My Dad's best friend is a Democrat that did the same thing. We didn't see that coming.

I know people that hide the fact that they're racist.

I'm more of an Archie Bunker bigot...

He definitely was one.

afterall...he is my hero... (_0_)

Sad to say actually.

really ?...he's pretty harmless...as am I...

I know a lot of rednecks that aren't racist. But I know of some blacks that the only reason they voted for BHO was because of his race. they had no clue about his stances...only his skin color. racism exists in all races but that doesn't mean everyone is racist either just because they don't like the president. there are ugly things said about gender, race, religion, etc. it happens and will always happen. people have the right to their opinions whether I agree with them or not. I don't like people disrespecting or generalizing though...because you can't say EVERYONE because you haven't met everyone or all or none. Just like always and never aren't true because they haven't happened yet.

I've seen many of the same people yelling racism but have no problem trashing someone for their religious beliefs. to me it's all the same

More black people are Democrats then they are Republican. That had something to do with them voting for Obama.

really ?...I would never have guessed that...lol...although...if you presented blacks with what Obama stands for...they would be disgusted...most blacks are Conservative...

There was nothing racial about the reasons why parents don't want it to happen. Yes other presidents have talked to the kids. But it wasn't made political.

No other president wanted the kids to wright a paper on how they can help president Obama.

After a hugh uprising about that it was changed to what they can do to make themselves better. Or something along those lines.

I have no problem with him talking to the kids and urging them to do well in school, just leave the polotics out of it.

Racists don't admit it is racial, they create other excuses but none of them hold water. He is not doing anything that has not been done before.
frustrated frustrated frustrated

It has to be racial, there was never any hoopla before now, now we have a non white president.

The only thing I see here that is racist is your own statement. You have no idea why the parents protested and immediately assume it is because he his black... prejudice based on race = racism.

BTW, you making a comment on others' ignorance like that is like the pot calling the kettle black.

I'm not going to comment on the particular reply but...

The problem is that there is still so much racism and people that will absolutely not accept this president for his race, that it's hard not to notice, especially if you live in a state this is actually quite racist.

what I have notice since Obama won is that people are not being polite about what they feel about this president where they might have been before he won because they never expected he would.

It's about class...not color... his policies are why his approvals are at historic lows...there's an old joke...how do you know when you've won an arguement with a Liberal ?...they call you a racist...

I guess that doesn't apply here since I am not a liberal. And besides that of course that type of analogy would be made so people would not look at the possible racism going on.

huh ?...you're not a Liberal ?...laugh ...not that there's anything wrong with that...

Do some protest too much? The concept that racists are initiating much of the propaganda to "hate" Obama for "legitimate" reasons is not very far fetched at all.

The point of this post is noone protested any other president speaking to their children in this country before now and all of them have done it. Even talking politics with the students was considered a great thing by Reagan and Bush Sr. There were democratic presidents who did it, there were liberal presidents who did it, noone protested then but now it is an issue?

It is obvious what is happening here and it is terrible that the schools are even going along with the racist parents.

what he has to say is probably...anti-American Van Jones...Rev Wright...type of stuff...the fact that we can't see what he's going to say sends out red flags as in Communism...lol

NEW YORK CITY, NY (Oct. 26, 2004) – An alliance of 100 prominent Americans and 40 family members of those killed on 9/11 today announced the release of the 911 Truth Statement, a call for immediate inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur. The Statement supports an August 31st Zogby poll that found nearly 50% of New Yorkers believe the government had foreknowledge and "consciously failed to act," with 66% wanting a new 9/11 investigation.

For that, I'm glad he is up there.

Obama Under Fire on Message to Students
The right side of the blogosphere is buzzing about next week's presidential speech. Not the address to Congress about health care reform on Wednesday -- the message to America's schoolchildren he'll deliver Tuesday morning.
President Obama's speech on the day many kids start classes this year will urge students to be responsible and stay in school. But some conservatives are up in arms over what they see as an attempt to spread Obama's "socialist ideology," as Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer put it. There's even an online movement encouraging parents to protest by calling in to work sick and keeping their children home from school on Sept. 8.
The White House denies there's anything political about Tuesday's speech, but the government's suggested lesson plans for teachers have been changed because of the conservative criticism. A call for students to write about "what they can do to help the president“ has been cut.
An incident in Utah is also stoking fears about government indoctrination of students.
The principal of an elementary school in Farmington showed this "I Pledge" video at an assembly. It begins with images of President Obama talking about patriotism, hard work and responsibility, followed by celebrities making pledges. Most are apolitical, but in one clip, Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis says, "I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama."
Gayle Ruzicka, president of the Utah Eagle Forum, blasted the video as "radical, leftist propaganda." A school district spokesman says the PTA board picked the video and the principal -- who hadn't seen it before it was shown to kids -- has apologized.

technically he's a Fascist...socialism is when the government owns and runs private business...fascism is when the private sector owns the business...but the governement runs it...although...there is an arguement for both sides...

Well said. :)

What does that have to do with a president speaking to children?

I was referring to his subject/topic...and his reference to Socialist Ideology...

Psst......all past presidents used a teleprompter.

Psst.....all presidents have speech writers.

That sounds real good.noway It would be like me saying that I don't want my child to listen to anything a Republican president would have to say.

I want my child to learn about all Presidents.

for speeches yes...for every fuggin' thing that comes out of your mouth...NO !

False: Illegal Immigrants Will Be Covered

One Republican congressman issued a press release claiming that "5,600,000 Illegal Aliens May Be Covered Under Obamacare," and we’ve been peppered with queries about similar claims. They’re not true. In fact, the House bill (the only bill to be formally introduced in its entirety) specifically says that no federal money would be spent on giving illegal immigrants health coverage:

H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

Also, under current law, those in the country illegally don’t qualify for federal health programs. Of interest: About half of illegal immigrants have health insurance now, according to the nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center, which says those who lack insurance do so principally because their employers don’t offer it.

http://www.factcheck.org/2009/08/seven-falsehoods-about-health-care/
If you are sick and you go to the ER they take care of you no matter what. I know I have been there done that.

You're right.
Illegals are not asked for their status and get health care we pay for.
The stats are all over the internet.
I trust no information that comes out of obama.com

Going to the hospital is not the same thing, as americans I would be ashamed of our country if we turned away a sick human being. You are wrong about the bill.

I wouldn't turn them away...I'd just send them back to Mexico...where they came from...they have no business accessing anything in this country if they're illegal...

That makes no sense. You say you wouldn't turn them away? You are turning them away of you send them back to mexico. Hope the hell you don't visit another country and get sick. Hopefully they won't be a selfish as that.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh...I see...they were visiting our great country...I thought they snuck in during the dead of night...illegaly...my error...
