it is not racial nownoway

Obama like all other presidents before him wants to speak to the kids in school here and some parents have an issue with it. So much so that they are petitioning the schools and threatening to keep the kids out of school because of it.

What is the only difference from Obama to all other presidents before him? It is not that he is Democrat or Liberal so there is only one option available after that.

I still cannot believe the ignorancy that still exists in this country.grumble noway huh rant

Very funny but not..

It is just sickening to think that a president talking to the schools which all have done becomes an issue when a shining white face is not on the president.

How do you come to that conclusion???

How can you not? He is not doing anything different from the presidents before him. What is the problem?

Of course not, a racist does not expose their motive publically, they know better.

Bush Jr spoke to schools all the time, this never happened. Clinton spoke to schools all the time, this never happened. Etc.... it goes all the way back. Some presidents messages where even political such as Reagans talk of cutting taxes, Bush Sr speaking of drug abuse. This never happened before, parents were proud to have their children addressed by the president regardless to being a Democrat or Republican.

Now it is an issue and parents are concerned that his message may be inappropriate, why now if it is not racial?

There was nothing racial about the reasons why parents don't want it to happen. Yes other presidents have talked to the kids. But it wasn't made political.

No other president wanted the kids to wright a paper on how they can help president Obama.

After a hugh uprising about that it was changed to what they can do to make themselves better. Or something along those lines.

I have no problem with him talking to the kids and urging them to do well in school, just leave the polotics out of it.

Racists don't admit it is racial, they create other excuses but none of them hold water. He is not doing anything that has not been done before.

Well, he is an Ivy leaguer but we really shouldn't hold that against him. I mean we all know that you get a better education at a state school. What is it they say, you pay 5 times more for half the eductation at a private college? But just because he never learned how to spend money properly doesn't mean he's a bad president. It makes him just like every other one that we've ever had.

Are you personally better off after spending $100 billion in Iraq?
Are you personally better off after we spent all that money to land on the moon?
The Great society, what's that still costing us?
We built all those nuclear missles, did we ever use one?
Did anyone see anything of a Star Wars program that didn't involve George Lucas?

So, spending money poorly is the standard for a president. By this logic Obama's one of the finest examples of a president we've ever had.

So why are you posting here instead of going down and rationally talking to the school board?

All though your process of elimination was a nice try. There are more factors than just he is the first black president.

Did you even see what they said was in the tape that caused people to act the way they did?

I don't know if it was true or not but the president wanted the kids to do a paper on how they could help the president. that's what people didn't like about it. Now that that has been said I heard that they changed it to have the kids do a paper on what they can do to make themselves better.

One thing you need to point out is this:

How many opportunities does anyone ever have to see a sitting President of the United States in person, let alone a child. Whether we like it or not, when our children are old they will be adding his monument to or nations capitol, and while they are young they will be able to see him live and in person.

I know the President of the United States isn't the glory job it used to be, but anyone who would aspire to the most difficult job in the world is truly a hero our children should look up to.

Feel free to print that out and use it.

FREE AMERICA NOW!!!!!!!!!

Considering the only shackles this country has seen recently was the attempt made by Bush to become the great American Dictator, there is no threat to that.

I can see my town not allowing a visit to the schools by the president, it would not be due to racism, it would be because here they really buy into the
"Obamanation" theory. He is to some, satan's tool...whoa

Silly as it is to me..I could see it happening here.
