Fear of rejection
|

This is a page out of my book this winter break.
There's this girl I graduated with, we started hanging out over the summer with mutual friends. We've been alone a few times, I took her out, nothing came of it. She'd ignore my calls. I got her a nice, inexpensive birthday present, which is more than anyone else got her, and she just brushes me off. So I'm essentially rejected. So I stopped. |

Say I Love You

Sharing love is important, but often times it's scary.
Because there are few things in this life worse than unrequited love. |

Not everyone on here is single, some people are married but just want friends.
But to address your question, that's what these forums are for. Some people look through profiles superficially and are only looking for sex, but the forums are where we all interact and share ideas. But if you want to make contact with someone, all you need to do is make contact. I'm talking to a great girl named Danielle that I met through this site, not dating (yet) but still talking. At first I was nervous but once I took the leap it all came naturally. Lao-Tzu wrote that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single footstep. So just walk... |

I got my wisdom teeth out today.
It's been seven hours since the surgery. They say I can't smoke for a week... Does anyone know if this is true? |

Just so you know, you can get sued for doing that. Are you talking to me? I never worked with "Vicky", she put me as a reference because she didn't have any, so if she sues me then I don't think she has a case. |

I've had it done to me. The girl even had the audacity to put me down on a resume as a reference two years later. So I get this call asking me about my fake work relationship with this girl we'll call "Vicky".
So I get the call from the Coast Guard Academy asking me about it. I ask "well what did she put down so I don't tell you what you already know?" "Well it says here that you were her manager at (retail store) and that she received three employee commendations." That's where I decided to have some fun. "Did she say commendations? I think she meant condemnations. Vicky showed up late to work constantly, and we eventually had to let her go because she was stealing and drinking on the clock." Maybe I was bitter because she led me on and used me quite a bit, and maybe after two years I should have gotten over it, but dammit if I didn't feel good after that. Just desserts. |

I liked it, I wasn't too much of a fan of the "I Am the Walrus" cover because I think Bono is a douche but overall it was a fantastic movie. Especially the imagery during Strawberry Fields Forever... it was such a powerful message.

Biggest guilty pleasure?
|

What is your biggest guilty pleasure in film or television and why?
For cinema, I saw Love Actually for the first time in November and I can't help but love the hell out of that movie. The soundtrack is so catchy ("I feel it in my fingers...") and I couldn't believe all the stars in the cast: Liam Neeson, Kiera Knightley, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Hugh Grant? Too much... As for TV, I love watching Lingo, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy, even though doing so makes me feel like I live in a nursing home watching Pat Sajack with Bernise. |

I just trying to be upfront and honest. I cant pretend to be "all good" when I cant do alot of things. I dont know maybe your right should just be secretive and see what happens. Just trying to weed out those that I would not be compatible with. I agree with 3oh3, the dating scene is about compatibility and chemistry between individuals. And you can't have compatibility or chemistry without letting them know what you're like. From reading your profile I got that you were disabled, you like movies, you've had back surgeries (and a failed relationship from said surgeries), you are a mother of multiple children and that the children were biracial. None of those things really tell anything about YOU, they tell about your situation. What part of the world have you been dying to see? What's your favorite thing to cook? What is the hobby that you've participated in the longest? If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why? These are the kinds of questions that tell a reader about you, give them something to empathize with and get them interested and invested in YOU. |

Are you a INUYASHA Fan
|
|
No, mostly because Inu Yasha is too long, and I'm definitely not the target demographic.
Back in junior high when I still thought DBZ was the be-all-end-all of action animation I had a little IY stint... always liked Miroku because he was funny. But too much sap, too much romance, and too little plot development leads to indefinite boredom. The slow progression is why I stopped watching anime in the long run. I still have my box sets of Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho but other than that it's all so drawn out. |
