Need Motivation

I got out of the hospital late last night; I told my doctor I had the flu, she insisted I was having a heart attack and wanted to call an ambulance. Anyhow, it was pneumonia. The problem is I have a very manly chest and those gosh darn heart monitor sticky thingies hurt like heck even when you pull them off in the shower (they refused to shave my chest first); so I am still staring at the shower and probably getting a little stinky. Can anyone help kick my butt into the shower? JUST DO IT! You will be exhausted but the steam is good for you and the "clean" is a mind enhancing drug that can't be beat! GO!GO!GO!GO! |

But the gun didn't save her....how can that be? The PERSON with the gun is what saves or destroys (assuming they also have ammunition.) The gun didn't kill. The gun didn't save. |

And Hell no I don't fear the government or the aliens or whoever the newest paranoia is today... A gun won't help you against that paranoia either... Everybody knows that requires a tin foil hat! And on that note what I WILL register is a sincere apology to the OP for making what (I think) is a funny comment in a thread about a very serious topic. Not trying to hijack your thread...hopefully we can all view it as a little comic relief... Best regards to all! |

Can Love Happen Twice???

I've loved twice and the first didn't even begin to compare to the second. But alas...it wasn't meant to be. Maybe there's another but I'm not holding my breath and not really looking.
People come into your life for a reason, season or lifetime...maybe that is how it works for love? |

NO JUDGEMENTS....BUT

I take putting someone down as a friend as a big deal so I read profiles and watch people over a long time before I accept or decline. I visit their profile, too. You can never too many friends...but easily can have too many creeps (because even ONE is too many!) |

And just for clarification gun crazies are those who believe falsely their gun gives them more power. Wow...then I guess I'm crazy because when the criminal is breaking in my door I can say: 1) Take anything you want but don't hurt me, or) 2) Take anything you want but if you cross the threshold of my bedroom door I will shoot to kill. One certainly SEEMS more powerful... |

No offense intended if it so happens.... Figures someone would want to limit the knowledge of the carnage that gun crazies cause with their guns.... No offense taken... I'm merely suggesting that if we, as a nation in an understandably reactive mode, should look at the WHOLE PICTURE. |

This is slightly off topic but completely related...
The Sunday after the Sandy Hook Shooting, there was an interesting discussion on several major news channels. Comparing all the recent shootings, they discussed that the biggest influence on ALL the recent shooters was the previous event...that is, they wanted to "out do" the last shooter/assailant. It wasn't the influence of video games, or drugs, or even a psychotic episode in common...it was the desire to do more/bigger/better. Well let's think about how they get all the gory details, the supposition, the 24/7 coverage of the event??? THE NEWS! SOCIAL MEDIA! THE INTERNET! That's all protected by free speech you say? Why yes it is...but if that is the real common factor, why aren't we discussing the FIRST AMENDMENT in equal measure??? Do we need to register the words that stir up tragedy? Think about it...then leave the Constitution alone. It's a very slippery slope, IMO. |

Unless you have inherited weapons, casual purchase or illegally gotten weapons...most of us with guns HAVE registered guns. Even from gun shows - not just dealers/retailers. What do you think they do with that paperwork/background check stuff when you go to make a purchase? ie, that is not registration. Technically that is true...but you can't convince me it's not a form of minor registration. Every day guns are tracked down through purchase records, per my friends who are licensed dealers. I am a 2nd Amendment supporter, by the way. |

Well, my kiddo has departed - westbound across Texas today. It's always hard to see 'em go but this time he's been SUCH a help and a blessing to me while I was gimpy!
I've "assumed the position" for the day - in my chair, foot elevated, TV clicker, phone, iced tea and laptop at hand. And so the day shall be! |

Respect is a commodity for mutual exchange...you get it when you give it.
Demanding "respect" rarely results in receiving the genuine thing. |
