It does help to talk and even if you don't know someone face to face there is someone out there who will listen. On this site for ex. If you've never dealt with the lose of a loved one then you're not living. tears tears

What was so frusterateing for me was pleading with social services in three states to get custody of my second neice and nephew who were being dragged around while their mother openly worked for an "escort service". I was told that as long as she was not having the children in the room she was performing lewd sex acts in it was not grounds to declare her an unfit mother. It was only when it was documented that the kids had missed so much medical care and school they were considered endangered and truant that they ended up in foster care. That her pimp professed to home school the kids and the family provided the kids clothes, shoes, food, and toys she was able to beat the system for years. It was heart wrenching to have her bring them to me to beef them back up, catch them up in school for a few months then drag them back out the door.
Couldn't you have gotten her on abandonment or child safety. Or even the safe haven act/law. What ever it is. That and isn't there a way of tracking home schooling. There is in TX.

That is true.To me it seems like when power was taken away from parents is when things went wrong. When I was a kid if we did wrong we got spanked. Now the same behavior we got in trouble for is accepted in public, or atleast some people think it should be. My feeling is warm the seat up and the crime rate will come down. Now don't go beating the life out of the kids. Just spank them hard enough they know as a parent you mean business. Maybe I'm wrong but looking at the crime rate of 1960 and today's something happened somewhere.

Oh no none of us are alone in missing loved ones. The day after I posted my last message my older sister came by to bring me some stuff my son left at her house. I felt so bad, my son who's 7 came in and told her. "Aunt Denise you are so pretty you look just like grandma did." After she left she called me and was crying. She asked me why everyone picked that day to tell her how much she looked like our mom? As it turned out my son was like the 4th person who told her she looked like momma. That day alone.

PacificStar you mentioned the older siblings. Sometimes the older siblings can get a point across where parents can't. For example my youngest sister used to think it was cool to drive herself home after partying and getting drunk to the point she couldn't stand much less drive. I broke her of the drinking and driving. I introduced her to a friend whose in a wheelchair now because he got drunk and had a wreck. He killed 3 people that night. 1 was his own twin sister. Like I said older siblings might be an asset or a hinderence depending on the family.

Scary is right. Now there is ALWAYS an adult in the park if there's kids there. Most of the time there's more than one but there is at least one. Mean mom heck yeah I'm a mean mom. I'm a mom who still has her kids and is not plastered on the local news pleading to have her son back.

Perhaps you should focus less on the acronyms (which most people do not pay attention to) and be yourself....
Me thinks you would be much better off in portraying yourself. drinker

Ok 1up for mean moms. Ladies, more power to us. I let my son and nepfew go to the park yesterday. Which I said before is across the street. Anywho I was sitting on the porch watching them and other kids playing. A strange car pulled up and parked the wrong way on the street. Just down a lil ways from the park. Of course that made me watch him/her closer. The longer I sit there the closer to the park they moved. After the car got so close to the kids in the park I called the police. I AM so glad I called. After the man lead the police on a high speed chase, he admitted he was looking to kidnap a child. The officer across the street from me came over and told me about the man admitting to wanting to kidnap a child.

there are those who say they understand even though they have never lost. I can't imagine losing a child even though I came close to losing 2 of my 3 children when they were very young. It was hard on me but the thought of actually losing one would kill me. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I don't think someone can understand until they're in that position can they? I know I can't. My thoughts and prayers do go out to the ones who have lost lil ones so precious
