Racing/media darling Danica Patrick set hearts aflutter this week as she made a very public visit to Stewart-Haas Racing's shop on Monday. Patrick, who's carried on a months-long flirtation with NASCAR, surely knew she would send everybody into fits of speculation with the visit, but SHR officials tried hard to tamp down false hopes:

"Danica has had a standing invitation to visit Stewart-Haas Racing since Tony announced his intentions to become a driver/owner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series a year ago," SHR spokesman Mike Arning said in an email to Scene Daily. "We simply facilitated a tour of the facility and introduced her to a handful of people who were at Stewart-Haas Racing." Smoke himself was not present, being in Atlanta to test Goodyear tires.

Now, it's obvious that this was done at least partly for PR purposes, but to what end? The NASCAR Insiders have an idea:

f my suspicions are correct, the incredibly public appearance of Danica Patrick at Stewart Haas on Monday is little more than posturing. High profile visits and meetings between team owners, management and prospective drivers are seldom done in public locations in the middle of the day ... However, if you're Danica Patrick and you're looking for instant media coverage and furthered speculation about your plans, showing up to a well trafficked NASCAR shop in the middle of the day is a good way to get what you seek.

Mission accomplished, Danica!

Still, there's always the possibility that this is an overture to greater things. In an exclusive interview with The Marbles to be published here tomorrow, Stewart had this to say in response to a question about possibly adding Danica Patrick as a third team: "As far as a third team goes, I think right now the biggest thing is you've got to make sure you can fund it first. You can build a team, but if you don't have the money to run it, it's not going to work. So, making sure that you've got proper funding is obviously the biggest thing."

Think he'd have any trouble funding a team with Danica Patrick behind the wheel? Yeah, me neither. That's not an admission that Danica will be running under the SHR banner next year, but it's not exactly a blanket denunciation of the possibility, is it?

Nooooo, Why dose everyone thing this girl is such a good driver? If anyone else would have been give the same chances she was given, they would have become race car driver too. Besides she went to my high school, and was the only student to total her car in the parking lot.
I just think shes hot....I think she would do better where shes at...

The housing bubble deleted my job last year. Used to be a small sub contractor. frustrated
The housing market in swfl is one of the worst...Florida survived on development for many years..There is none now and wont be for many years.

Florida has no sales tax and with the lost property value....Well lets just say my house value plummeted %75 but my taxes hasnt dropped and will probably increase...frustrated

Yea Chazster I remeber you...Havnt seen you on though I hanvt been on much myself...GOOD LUCK/GOOD HUNTING

ohwell Just like Pit Bulls it always ends badlyohwell

Let's not go there Mirror, bad owners make bad pit bulls! They can be the sweetest dogs if raised right.shades
here, heredrinker I raised pit bulls for years they are sweet look at petey on little rascals they are highly intelligent and it is always the fault of cruel and careless owners
I have to disagree with you there...ANY animal can lose it for any reason!!!!! He!! we humans do!!!

My biggest bit... is HAVE LIABILITY INS...If ya dont ya shouldnt own it!!

I agree...you hear it all the time...

"The dog/snake/bear/lion was NEVER aggressive before...I just don't understand why it attacked and KILLED A CHILD...."

Oh....ok then. However...all the liability insurance in the world is not going to insure against stupid people, like this person was..

"Darnell, 32, told authorities he last checked on the snake about 12:30 a.m. It had escaped its terrarium.

He put the snake in a bag and put it back inside the glass case. Then he put a quilt over the terrarium and tied something around the quilt. State law says pythons are supposed to be kept under lock.

Early in the morning, the snake escaped again."

What good is liability insurance going to do here? the child it dead...and the snake owner is directly responsible for this death IMO...

His own kid got killed so insurance wouldnt do much good...What if it got out of the house and killed the kid next door?

I have a pool so I carry $1,000,000 liability...WHY because I know I cant be in control of that pool 24/7. I have a 6" privacy fence but know some kid wanting to take a dip will if he gets a chance...Its called being responsible....I have neighbors with a pit that gets out...They rent and have nothing(They told me they have nothing)...I own my house and cant own one...Cant get homeowners in florida if you own a pit, rott,or German Shepard unless you fork out big $$$$$$$$ TRY 4 TIMES what I pay even carrying the $1,000,000 I carry because of the pool!!!!!

oh, I see what you are saying now...I get it and YES...it is the responsible thing to do. That child was not his...it was his girlfriends.

It is a sad day that you have taken ALL the precautions...crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's...and yet, people can still come after you.

I would see that as their liability and their responsibility if they sneak into your pool and drown or get hurt. You have done everything that you are supposed to do...

My thing is that neither the mother or the boyfriend were being responsible for the 2 year old child OR the snake that killed her..

and in that instance, even IF he had insurance it would not make the life of the little girl come back...

it is a major difference from what you do...you both A.) act responsibly and B.) carry insurance...

Like I said, I think that the mother and the boyfriend are responsible for the death of the child period.

Couldn't Agree more with you there! I guess I always prepare for the worst and hope for the best...

Like I said I have no problem with people owning them just the ones who arnt prepared and arnt insured...

A very sad story with the snake. Parents need to step up and take responsibility for their actions...

well as for 9/11 i would never say that what they done was justified, but to lots around the world it was, as for abortion, lots call it murder, i don't. its the laws of the land, so is not murder, when abortion Doctor was murder it was like people like rush Limbaugh and and coulter said it was justified, but your point is well taken. but maybe you can explain . why would someone like bush/cheney make up facts to invade Iraq, but still call them self christians.why does your states execute people, does it not say in the bible they shall not judge, even through we may not agree you seem to be a good christian man, so no harm has been meant in my post sir.
Wooh!Wooh... "your states" arnt you a citizen of this country? OUR COUNTRY!! You have the right to vote and all the rights everyone else has!NO!!! For 23 years?

If the US is to be blame for things are you not part of the problem?

so can anyone PLEASE tell me what I am missing here? I don't get why we stick our noses into all of this. I admit I may not know a lot about this subject, so any answers would be great

WE stick our necks out because if we don't stop evil men they end up on our doorsteps. Can you imagine the map of the world if the US had not joined the fight in the WW1 orWW2. Every country would be a North Korea, taken over by dictators.
Yep but 9/11 wouldnt have happened if we had controlled our boarders from those evil men. Spent all that money on 2 wars and I feel saferfrustrated Since our boarders and ports are now secure that is!!!frustrated
