Hi, I'm Mr Single. I live i Single town of Singledom. It's a lovely place, if you don't mind being the mayor of Single town. There are plenty of couples around, infact when you become single, you actually noticed couples more! Watching them kissing, holding hands, holding each other & making each other laugh... well some - the others tend to be angry at each other or looked down in the dumps lol.

So I have been mayor of Single town for 4 months now... oh my! shocked I didn't want this job, it just kinda happened! I'm looking to move to Happy Couplesville though

YES! I hate that. WE get GIANT webs right outside our front door on our path. I have to keep a stick on the porch just for that. They are also by our back gate. In a way, its nice to know we are protected in the night, but ......what biotch walking through a web and not seeing it. Especially those thick wide ones. They are impossible to wipe off. I had one in my hair and the spider was attached, thank GOD my friend was over and able to help. I was so worried it was going to crawl into my neck area and bite me...explode

That must be a real pain, you make yourself look all pretty, on your way out somewhere & walk straight into a web. I bet that makes you paranoid, you have to check yourself incase you walked into one without realising & having a web on you somewhere slaphead

I just got back from camping on the esternshore of mayland and i never saw so many bugs and spiders in my life. Im walking down trails in the woods knocking down webs every other foot with big yello spiders in um. I never seen a yellow spider before. I don't know what kind of spider it could have been all i know is they were a pain in my butt and in the way.

I went mushroom picking when I lived in Germany, it was just the right time of year and some of them were HUGE! Anyway, whilst looking for the mushrooms the forrest was full of baby frogs. Literally as you stepped in the grass, about 10 tiny frogs hopped away. There must have been 1000's.

I caught another spider late last night. This time it was a fat body with short legs. It was climbing the wall next to my bed, as I was watching a film on my laptop. I went to catch it, but then it dropped off the wall! 2 hours later it was on the otherside of the room & near the ceiling. I had to catch it or I'd be thinking about it all night rant

That's one other thing I hate about them, when you walk into their webs. Even walking around outside, I tend to find 1 thread, actually it finds me and sticks on my face/hair. Then I always wonder if a spider was actually on it or not! Annoying things grumble tongue2

No it's not posionous  Just a common house spider. You think I would stick my fingers up at a spider & get that close if it were? laugh

I doubt we have hardly any dangerous spiders in the UK, if we do, then they've hitched a ride from elsewhere.

By the way, talking to spiders up the wall?... I think you're going up the wall with them  bigsmile

If I see a spider, I've got to catch it or I will keep thinking about it all night.

Here in the UK, the weather is changing, so the spiders come indoors looking for a dry/warm place to stay during Winter. I refuse to let them stay without paying rent! noway devil

Anyway, this is the 3rd one I've caught...

Warning spider photo coming up

I realised it's not a very popular site, strange because it's free. I was wondering, why's nobody lookin?? On other sites you get spammed with bots with fake profiles, so I gotta consider that. I would add 1 to your profile viewers, but ya know... didn't want to come across that way blushing bigsmile

She's so ugly, that when she walked into the bank they turn off the cameras.

She's so ugly, when it comes to Halloween, she had to do Trick or Treat by phone.

She's so ugly, when she threw a boomerang, it never came back.

Due Date...

Difficult film to watch until the end. I'm no critic, but the characters were OK in this film. I was having trouble settling into the story though. That Ethan character is really really annoying and very strange mad laugh

lol love your view on things ya nutter bigsmile

I am doing more things since being single. Bowling, playing pool, exercising (jogging & cycling with an old crappy bike).

As for travelling, I'd love to do that around a new Country. Somewhere like the states or Oz is very appealing, same language, nice climates. Need to grow some balls to do that on my own.

Buying that dog or that bike now, or any of the other stuff I wanted... that would tie me down you see. That's why I'm holding off until I know I can settle somewhere. I'd love for that moment to happen, find that person, that place and say wow now this is where I want to be forever.

Thank you lol... well imagine that and the possibility of that being your future. Now add on the the loss of a Mother, no real friends in that Country. Just you, the partner, her parents & the family pets... forever (she wanted us to convert all of upstairs in the big house to be ours, living with her parents).

You are correct, that you can't cram in a whole life story & explain who you are in a couple of paragraphs. I`ll elabroate a little on what you've pointed out.

I don't work, only been back in the country a couple of months. I was working for IBM in Germany. Now that I am back in the UK, I'm taking it easy, using it as me time to evaluate things. I think I deserve it after such a bad time this year.

I do know what I want in my future, I listed that above bigsmile I'm analytical, methodical about certain aspects of life, but then again sometimes it's just best to go with instincts.

Your assumption of thinking it would be hard for someone to commit to a relationship with me, basing on that I said I get bored easily. I did just spend 6 1/2 years in a relationship, that only ended because of my late Mum, the different language/country, the confineds within my ex's Parent's house in a single room for 10 months solid, living in the middle of nowhere (no internet, no bars, no restaurants, no cinema, just fields and animals - unless we got a train or took a car). I did that twice, for 16 months in total all because I wanted to be with her.

I know this is my thread that I started off, but I don't want it to be a me me me thread lol. I was talking in general, about this inbetween phase.

hey simon i'm in the same boat as you are. don't have any advice but just letting you know your not the only one feeling that way.

Good to know. Thanks mate.

I do love the feeling of being able to go anywhere I want, whenever I want... but it gets boring alone. That's the problem.

I don't have any contracts, no car, no mortgage, nothing at all to tie me down. It feels brilliant, but after a while, it's just not the same to share all of that with somebody with the same attitude.

Dating means testing the water.

It varies a fair bit...

Friends to lovers - You've known a friend for a fair while, but feel it should be something more. You meetup as friends quite a lot, so meeting as a date isn't really anything different. It's just got a new tag to it, a 'date'. This is the best way, as you already know the person.

A blind date - setup by a friend or even from the internet, not really seen or spoke to this person, meeting for the first time. This is really diving deep into the unknown and a lot more risky. I've never been on a blind date or setup. I'd be too paranoid, not because of nerves, but well, you know lol.

Self discovery - you met somebody in a bar, online, anywhere... got chatting away, felt something might be there. Asked them to go on a date. So you've already met them, had a brief chat, but now is the time to talk about a lot more things and see if there's anything mutual between you.

If you're a new fish in the sea, then dating can also mean dating multiple people. For some, that'd be lucky just to have 1 person to date lol. This is your personal choice/availability... if you're able to take on multiple dates (and not mix up their names) bigsmile

Things are on hold until I know what I'm doing or where I'm going to be...

Have you ever been in this position or in this inbetween phase right now? You want to do a few things, move on, start fresh, but things are on hold because you don't know where you want to be or with whom?

I want to buy a few new things, move somewhere new, find a nice place, decorate it, get a big big TV, a new bike (decent road bicycle to keep fit), a pet.... basically settle down and finally call a place home. Do some travelling, live a little. My friends are either in relationships, they never lived anywhere else (lacking desire) or have no money.

All of the above, it seems to be on hold for me though. I lived with my Mum and moved around the UK a few times. I then moved to London with a girlfriend, then back home to Oxford. I landed in a 6 1/2 year relationship in Germany, then my Mum died this year. The German relationship turned out either I had to choose Germany forever, or call it quits. So that's what I did, I couldn't handle everything. I gave my 100% and learnt German, lived in East Germany for 16 months, but with a really bad start to the year, I gave it all up. Just wasn't meant to be. I'm not dwelling on that.

I'm 32, but look and feel a lot younger. I'm just fresh out of a relationship since 3 months, the ex kept sending SMS, letters or contacting on facebook, begging to be atleast friends (even though she's already started dating other guys).

I just want to find someone (not just any girl, but compatable etc.), settle down. I'm really at this stage right now, but meeting someone in the town I live in, it's not a big town, lots of people know each other or related. It's not easy finding that right one is it? Is it being too pedantic? Aiming high, but not actually having the opportunity to find this person.

I do get bored fairly easily, which explains why I want to travel, try something new, but also wanting somebody to do this with. Does anybody else ever get this way? It seems like my friends are content with ALWAYS being in this town, not looking for something else. I understand it's probably a comfort zone, but I've moved around a fair amount when I was younger, then recently in a different Country.

Want my ex to stop contacting me. She's already started dating other guys, but keeps begging to stay in contact as friends frustrated
