JeannieBean, are you starting trouble again? Sheesh.
Here's today's question: If there is no God, where does guilt come from? |

The Bible?

Keep in mind that all of this started by merely me mentioning that I like to read the Bible.
What TexasScoundrel is doing is taking one verse and using that as the basis for his argument as to how the Bible does not make sense. This is an old trick used by dissenters. But, here is the thing: in no other form of literature do you do that. Logically speaking, you read the whole passage and then use this as the basis. Plucking out one verse without providing the context does not do anything except make the case that you are not looking at the Bible objectively. Here is an example: "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near. So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." What is Jesus referring to? If you read the parable, you know he is referring to the signs of the end times. Now, some people will say that because we are still here, Jesus' statements were not factual. But, what is ending? At the time, it was not possible to enter heaven because of Adam's transgressions. Jesus was stating that He was there, that they should not be waiting for someone else and instead focus on who He is and what He is saying. So, when you read Jesus' words, you see that he is stating when you see God at hand, do not look away, but rather embrace Him. |

Anyways, I don't think you are boring. Keep posting, and don't listen to harsh people like singmesweet. She is unhappy because I rejected her offer of taking me to Outback Steakhouse.

I hate to keep coming back to the religion thing, but this is what happens when people do not believe in God and the Bible. As a Christian, I am not worried about the economy in the least. Since the recession began in December, 2007, I have received two raises, three bonuses, and a promotion. Also, my side business is thriving to the point of me having a waiting list of people.
It is not because of me, but rather because of God. God gets the glory. If you do as the Bible says, and seek the Kingdom of God and all His righteousness, ALL these things will be added unto you. As a result, you do not have to worry about the economy. |

Abracadabra writes:
"Well, that verifies your fear of questioning the Bible." God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, faith, and a sound mind. I do look at the Bible from a logical viewpoint. To me, it is the most logical explanation of things. "In your mind, you have convinced yourself that to even remotely consider the idea that the Bible might be false would be to fall for the temptation of Satan." You just have to look deeper, that's all. You fell short of the mark. You can come back. "In other words, you've already fallen for the Biblical picture of God hook, line, and sinker." I have fallen for God, yes, it is true. "You are even convinced that Satan is out to get you!" If Christ is for us, who can be against us? |

Are you using the same points you did before? I refuted all of them. See my previous posts.
Do you have anything new? |

TruckTurner writes:
"Environment you're around mostly. Thats all. There is no wrong or right, universally. You choose your priorities." So, if your priority is to blow up a school, then that is OK? Nah. Stick with God. You'll never go wrong. |

I can't hate someone whom I do not know, and as a Christian, I can't hate anyone except for Satan. I'm not a fan of his music.
However: 1. He is trying to spread a positive image. 2. He is able to laugh at himself, which is more than I can say for the super-sensitive music industry. |

"True, but I say that because Abra spent half his life trying to make sense of the Bible so he could be a preacher." And isn't that when Satan tempts us the most? When we're closest to God? |

I did say "maybe," right? Nobody is blaming anybody for anything. It was merely a suggestion. Nothing more.
