Faith vs. Fear where the economy is concerned...
What can people in general do to better their lives, and increase their wealth in the face of unemployment, money problems, debt, etc. Do we, as Americans consume too much? Are we spoiled and ungrateful? How can we live our lives better? How can we help each other. If the dollar fails us, what can we use to trade and barter? |

Better fear. The decent is not over yet. Notice how fuel prices sit precariously at $4.00? If it goes any higher there could be some bad repercussions! I am seeing a direct correlation to what is going on today and the 1930s. TARP 2 saved banks from the inevitable and what is to come is just going to be BAD! Banks like B of A are riding a razor's edge right now. They hold so much property in a stagnate market that any more will cost them their liquidity. They refuse to let property values plummet like they would in the real world. All they are doing is holding their finger in a growing crack on a leaking damn that is about to burst!
Americans do consume too much and are spoiled rotten. Having done volunteer work in Mexico and seeing real poverty I have a good template to compare us too. This is what is going on right now... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZdp46Jen_w |

impossible to be looking for wealth when you can't even get basic needs.
america consumes tons. but it's quite unevenly distributed. everyone should just live with the ultimate goal of being completely happy. try to help others to get happy. if the dollar fails, use sticks and stones. |

I agree: redistribution is the key. I therefore believe (= faith) that there should be more state lotteries, and the winners should be decided more randomly. Many would say that it's a society that has too much of everything, that is, individuals have more than they can use, want, need, or love, so they stopped buying stuff because their houses are only so big and can only hold so much. So why not depend on the service industry, to keep the economy going? Because people need no services, I mean, they are not going to go for ten haircuts a week or to seven classical chamber orchestra music in a given period. And unfortunately some services are really too expensive to afford, such as medical care. It's a plague, because whether it's privately funded or the whole country must buy in to some potentially badly managed fund, the crux of the matter is that medical care and medicine is not affrodable in the US, no matter who handles the insurance and how many people belong to a plan. It's just way too expensive. It's easier to afford, and also more accessible for reg'lar humans to go on dates with mega-star hollywood celebrities or with the daughters of the president of the united states, for example, than to afford a glass eye-transplant even, a hearing aid battery replacement surgery. it's crazy, it's stupid, and I think it's the fault of the bible belt-people, who forgot to tighten their belts when it came to medical expenses. So the whole thing got out of hand, slowly but surely, over time, and therefore the nation is facing just one more crisis, the health care crisis, aside from the crises of: 1. Economical 2. Banking 3. International relations 4. Internal crime and drug abuse 5. Murder rate 6. Religious devotion and the adoration of the Magi 7. Peruvian dwarf-frog invasion of the Hawaii islands 8. Internet fraud, scams, and viruses 9. Crop failure 10. Armageddon 11. the second coming of Christ 12. The End days as per the Mayan Calendar 13. the space research crisis, as to whether the moon landing was faked or real 14. The transverion crisis of the competitive non-voting shares' bifurcative redegeneration by amoritizing the income tax industry |

I hate to keep coming back to the religion thing, but this is what happens when people do not believe in God and the Bible. As a Christian, I am not worried about the economy in the least. Since the recession began in December, 2007, I have received two raises, three bonuses, and a promotion. Also, my side business is thriving to the point of me having a waiting list of people.
It is not because of me, but rather because of God. God gets the glory. If you do as the Bible says, and seek the Kingdom of God and all His righteousness, ALL these things will be added unto you. As a result, you do not have to worry about the economy. |

Yeh, I believe in the law of attraction. Sometimes watching the news and listening to doom and gloom gets on your nerves.

Your income and side business goes up as a reward from god, to continue destroying the economy in your own way. Maybe they are only coincidals, that your business strives, the economy is nosediving and fewer people are believing in God. God is showing you as an example, "believe in Me, and you will have a good life on this world." You are a veritable miracle!! Halleluyah! The Lord has spoken, and He has uttered a Freak!! Forever and ever, amen. |
