I keep bobby pins in my wallet just for this problem.

For the best security, install 5 deadbolt locks on your door, but only lock 3.

I've looked into wind power quite extensively. What surprised me was that they have a 120 volt brake system that, if you're not using a battery storage system, will shut the turbine down whenever the power grid goes down in the area. The reason for this is they don't want you sending power into the grid when they are repairing it. So batteries are must.

Check your area to see what windzone you are in and if it would support a turbine. Vertical turbines need a lot more wind than horizontal ones. Most won't even start to produce electric until 8 to 10 mph.

Higher (more expensive) is better as the wind isn't disturbed by groundbased objects which means units must be installed far away from trees and buildings.

Hope this helps.

Wow a lot of nice cars.

I had a Mercedes repair shop for 20 years so I'm partial to them.

Garage queens:
1985 500SEC Euro spec 300hp
1986 190E 16V
1985 190E 2.3 SCCA IT racecar
1994 Toyota Supra tt 400hp, not for sale, value going up

Daily drivers:
1987 190D 2.5 turbo diesel
1986 190E 2.3
2008 Mercedes Sprinter, work van, 18.8mpg hauling 4500 pounds cargo

The one that got away? 1966 Jaguar XKE convertible. Sold it in 1980 for $3500. Value today? Over $100,000.

Absolutely not. Even sexy.

Of the 200 plus car shops that I call on there are only 2 women that are mechanics. They are good at what they do.

I think our luck has run out. It's snowing and will be for the next few days. Single digits at night and low 20's during the days.

Stay warm and have a good new year.

I think it's time to start saving all your pennies.

Did you notice that the newer pennies were more plastic-like than the older ones? Drop one on a hard surface and listen to the sound. Higher pitched, less dense.

I would think the fifth one would be constipated.

Then again, it would depend on their sexual preferences.

What a sad thing to happen. But! Something isn't right with this story.

First, the cop should've had the sense to turn the ignition off or take other actions if he was that calm. They are trained to be calm in panic situations.

Secondly, the story dissapeared so their must have been something else involved to hush it up. Maybe your thoughts on suicide perhaps.

And lastly, modern day cars have brakes large enough to stop an accelerating car. I've been on many roadrace courses and it would take me 3 laps to feel brake fade at speeds up to 130 mile per hour in a large import sedan very similar to a Lexus in size and weight.

My opinion, that car was more than capable of slowing to a stop.

It's still sad though.

A strong aroma of cigar with a hint of Kroger value dishwashing liquid.

I washed my hands after getting home from work.

From the money that hasn't been paid to the dealers, yet.

Alot of dealers.

And alot of money.

Just another government f'ked-up program.

We don't own GM and Chrysler, the unions own them.

Because they voted him in.

That was totally wrong. I would have pushed my cart off to the side and walked out of the store and gone somewhere else to shop. Nothing bugs me more than a crying LB screaming. It really does hurt my ears.

My parents would've smacked me more than 4 times and I would've learned and not done it again.

Oh well, times have changed.

This is exactly why I won't take any drugs from any doctors.

The last time I went to a doctor, for a checkup, I was prescribed ten pills for $98. I told the pharmasist, NO. After checking with the doctor, they called me back and said that they had a generic version. When I went to pickup the prescription there were 20 pills, (2 a day instead of 1) and the cost was $4. WTF!

If I die, so be it, but it just seems that there are more drawbacks then benefits from pills these days.

Since everything that has bothered me in the last 20 years has gone away on it's own, I think there should be a pre-screening to emergency rooms and doctors office calls that tell you wether to come in or just stay home and it will go away.

To me that is healthcare reform.

In a certain area, when the weather reaches 30degrees celcius, tv stations close down.

Basically this means that no person can watch TV. To encourage people outside.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Is this control over people, or is a good thing enabling our children to be out in the fresh air?

Seeing some of the crap that we have on TV nowadays I think it's a good idea. Kids these days are glued to the TV or video games or computers and they are not getting enough real world, hands on, experience. I do feel bad about the older folks that can't do anything else.

By the way, my mothers side of the family is from Transivania and Munich.

It's already started.

Last week they bulldozed the small post office a mile and a half from me. A lot of people had to install mailboxes when it closed last month and they lost their PO boxes.

I believe that a lot of the smaller offices are privately owned.
