Public school teachers are like Joe Friday from Dragnet
They teach
"Just the facts ma'am..."

They only teach facts not faith. It obvious religioso would love to say that school teacher deny God in school. The truth is God has no place in school. Try teaching the solar system and physics. In the Bible there a story that the sun stood still.

Joshua 10:12 to 10:13

...In the presence of Israel, Joshua said:

Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon, you too over the Vale of Aijion!

And the sun stood still and the moon halted, until the people had take vengence on thier enemies....

Bible mistakenly assumes the sun revolves around the earth. That so against the universal fact that the earth go around the sun. Further more even if the bible meant that the earth stop rotating and not the revolution of moon then every person, animal and stone would fly off the world as physic dicates.

i'm sure that god could change the laws of nature for something like this to occur. he's god.

i dont think WHEN you observe the sabbath matters, as long as you observe it. and i dont think working on the sabbath is bad. jesus did.

all in all, i think god cares more about your heart than the little technicalities. the commandment says "keep the sabbath". doesnt indicate that the day of the week matters.

The Star Wars episode of Family Guy pwn'd all other episodes of Family Guy or Simpsons. I loved Meg as the garbage monster.

as a die hard family guy fan, i thought the star wars episode was kinda lacking. not as funny as most FG eps. just my $0.02.

depends on your style of humor. i love both, but family guy is much funnier. ever since family guy came back on tv after being canceled, i have noticed simpsons has started adding a lot more "family guyesk" humor. things are a lot more random on simpsons. you can tell they're trying to be more like family guy. simpsons is definitely more family friendly and less offensive. i love family guy though. my favorite show!

the mere fact that most christians i know, or people with any religious beliefs, are nicer than most atheists i know, gives me enough reason to stick with what i believe.

what does spiritual mean? it seems really vague and ambiguous. maybe that's the point?

i totally support a separation of church and state, and i am a firm christian.

bottom line, our country and the people in it are NOT all christian and since the govt should represent the people, there should be no elements of specific christianity intermingled in it, out of respect for others' beliefs. basic morality and decency should be, but those aren't religion specific.

although i don't support the idea of gay people marrying, as i see marriage as something designed by god between a man and a woman, those are my christian views and should not affect equality and the law. i guess if 2 people who love each other want to have that title and and get all the tax benefits, then ok. i would prefer we have 2 kinds of marriage though, a church marriage and a civil marriage. i think it's weird, but i'm gonna stop em from being happy if that's what does it.

i enjoyed angels and demons.

and even IF the da vinci code was true, da vinci wasnt around during the time of christ and anything he included in his works was just personal opinion and speculation based on whatever knowledge he had. to be true he was a genius, but geniuses are still human.

Or just those that are coupled up/married and bragging about it? Don't get me wrong, it's awesome when people find each other, but why continually throw it in single people's faces? It leads me to believe that there aren't many, seriously looking, single men on here.

i am. probably a bit too young for you though.

one can hide it all you want, but your beliefs shape the way you act and the decisions you make, and despite there being a separation of church and state, which i as a christian support, it's gonna happen anywayz just like it has with bush. so everyone get out and vote if you dont like the believers.

huckabee is the only candidate whos also a minister. you might wanna attack him first.

a holiday is celebration of something. atheists dont believe in any religious beliefs so what are they celebrating? if they want to make up their own holiday and call it "common sense day" or "atheist day" or whatever other day they wanna call it, let em, but i doubt our government will recognize it as a holiday you get off from work.

i've been wondering about the true biblical-ness of tithing. i just recently started tithing to my church. i tithe because i am blessed. i make a decent amount for my age and i can easily live off the 90% i have left. i tithe because my church rocks and i believe in what they are doing and teaching. the selfish side of me wants to keep the 10% and reason out of it, but i wouldnt even be alive if not for god. every day is a gift from him and the 10% is how i show my thanks, along with following him in my daily decisions. i think it's kinda up in the air. tithing is kinda "up in the air" in the bible to me. could be interpreted either way.

the main point is that "god likes a cheerful giver". don't give if it's only out of obligation or guilt. give because you realize god's providence and love for you and give joyously out of that. there are plenty of people my church can help with my 10%, and i entrust them to use it well with god's guidance.

i don't think a christian should tithe because you "have to". do it because you "want to" and it takes time to get to that point in your faith where you can do that. i just got there, and i'm still learning to enjoy it. that's $300/month i could be spending on me.

ANOTHER GOOD TOPIC. does time count as your tithe? does money spent in a biblical way count as a a tithe? for instance, i sponsor a child in haiti for $35/month. so does that count as part of my tithe?

ART, i'd like your opinion on that last paragraph. thanks folks. thats my 2 cents.

it seems that way. america is a place of religious freedom and most countries with religious freedom tend to slant towards an overall LACK of faith (the UK for example), or occurances like this, where people pick and choose teachings they like, or can already go with, and ignore the parts they don't. relativism rules and real truth is becoming less and less important. personally it bothers me, but i dont think i can do anything about it, nor should i force my views on others. the only thing i CAN do is help someone out when they think they are a christian, and clearly not doing christians things or living by god's word. other than that, all i can do is follow christ the best way i know how, helping people to understand my faith if they're interested. and leave the rest up to god.

wow. that is way too philosophical to understand. haha.

it's true though. people only see what you throw out on the internet, not the entire you, and thats impossible to portray in just a couple pictures and paragraphs. even my close friends and roommates dont know ALL of me.

god was not created. he just IS. we as human's cannot wrap our minds around something like that. i feel if a god exists, which i believe he does, he could easily create us without that understanding. that is why we are us, and god is god.

i dont think that's a cop-out. i feel its a perfectly logical way of looking at it. IF god exists, he created the rules. the universe, heaven, earth, etc, is way too huge for our tiny humans minds to ever grasp and we werent meant to.

just because the original meaning behind easter is pagan, doesn't mean that christians worship anything besides christ on easter. i use the day to remember his sacrifice for me and his resurrection. the only thing in common with the pagan tradition is the day is happens on, and the name. other than that i am just remembering what christ did for me on that day. i don't think any practicing christians would claim they are worshipping anything else on easter, so i don't think they can be faulted for it.
