 The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have.

So it isn't about not having what you want but more about wanting what you have? What about the people that know what they want and spend time on a dating site looking for what they want? slaphead I'm easily confused about most affairs of the heart but it seems to me that my happiness is founded on personal achievements and not on stuff that happens around me. I realize that happiness is just a state of mind and sometimes a cause for celebration where alcohol is consumed in large quantities but then the next day when you're all hungover you vow never to be that happy againill

"I'm in the DARK HERE!" -Al Pacino (Scent of a Woman)
I haven't been on a date in more than 30 years but from what I remember it went really well. Totally non-scripted after I lost my way taking a back road shortcut from her place to our intended destination. We ended up on the patio of a small town restaurant on a warm summer evening sharing a bottle of Mateuse Rose while we chatted about our future plans since graduating high school as the sun was setting across the unharvested wheat fields. We were both 18. We met in the parking lot of the high school a few weeks before. I was hangin with my posse, listening to the Rolling Stones blasting out of the Craig Powerplay cassete deck in my '65 Mustang convertible when she pulled up with her girlz in a '65 Mustang convertible. Her's was blue with a black rag-top and mine was white with a white rag-top. Of course we talked about our cars and the work that went into them and on to that crazy 3 day after-grad party with the 3 live bands that performed and the general grungy-drunkeness of it all that resulted in a blur we'll never forget.
We never planned on a second date since she had a boyfriend and I had a girlfriend as well our immediate futures were taking us on two totally different paths. In the coming fall, she was going to the University of Alberta to pursue a business degree and I was on my way to the tarsands of Fort McMurray.

I hadn't really thought much about her after that until I decided to post a reply to this thread.

What if you cut the sleeves off your t-shirts and painted a number on the door of your car? Maybe you would be more popular in your hometowndrinks Cheers!

When it's my time to pass away I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandpa did... not screaming and panicking like the passengers in his car scared

The road to a blissful ever after is paved with ambivalence. All you have to do is keep the relationship between the ditches.
