I'm out of temezapam and haven't slept but a couple hours in three days

and can't get any more till I get paid Thursday (insurance wont cover it)

Damn, sorry to hear that. Thursday is a long way off. Your insurance won't cover it?? I take clonazepam and my insurance doesn't give me any grief, only pay $3.87 or so for a month's worth. Doubt your Dr. has any samples of this laying around, but would be worth a call to his office to ask?? Take care.

it's only about $20 without insurance (most of my meds are $2 cause of Medicare)

but they want me to take Ambien or Lunesta and I can't take those. They make me do stuff like getting dressed in the middle of the night and try to drive in my sleep. And it's like I know I'm doing it but dreaming so I cant stop it. So the insurance wont cover it

so I sit up all night and post stupid stuff. but I have restless leg really bad too so at the same time I'm hoppin around like a one legged tap dancer

They have found that Ambien has that hypnotic effect on some people - they will get dressed and go to work, etc., then wake up and realize they are at work and not know how they got there, really scary stuff that they are driving while they are technically asleep or basically hypnotized by this drug. Not sure if Lunesta does the same, but Ambien has become well known for it. I take clonazepam for sleep, also have restless leg, but not that bad. Just had to ask my neurologist if he would refill them for me, I stopped going to the doc that started me on them (about 2006 - when I was caring for dad in the house and he kept me awake all night). Anyways, I was nervous he would say no, but instead he doubled my script and said they are finding out they help with migraines too. I do like my neuro!! Does chamomile tea or any of the other "natural" sedatives help?

Want me to send some a "the boys" over?

"Little League" teams, he works with them all year long.
Suspect he would have a lot of "back-up." laugh

 Dang. I am sorry that happened to youfrown

Thanks. Will try some coworkers to see if I can find coverage, otherwise will chip away at the typing in the evenings. Darn, was hoping to have an "actual" vacation though. Have a lot of day trips planned to show Pam around the "Northwest," a whale watching tour, taking her to the rain forest, the ocean, etc. Will be fun, but more fun without having to come home and type. sad

and then go kick his azz for stiffin ya

he said he would and you made plans based on that so he needs a azz kickin

Other than the fact that he is a 75 y/o man, probably wouldn't look good.noway Think it was more a strike against the boss than me, the boss hired me and gave me 1/2 his work without telling him about a year ago, so suspect this is his way of retaliating. Convenient that he waited so long, obviously planned too, he was supposed to take over on the 4th through the 14th. frustrated frustrated

This is my 2nd job (part-time), so now I need to scrounge up someone else to cover for me or will have to continue to type evenings while "I am on vacation" and have company. rant frustrated frustrated frustrated

Hope I can talk a coworker into it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. sad sad

Have you ever tried "Johnny's Pork & Chicken Seasoning?"
It gives pork and chicken the best flavor, then you can
broil, pan fry, however, but it is my favorite.
It is getting hard to find though, has been around since the
late 60s, and stores seem to be heading more for the
spicy seasonings, I have to look harder to find it now.
But it is the best.

I have posted this before, so not really a secret anymore and it was only on one person, my EX!!!

He was a violent alcoholic and after an especially BAD night of his raging, etc., he would yell at me to make him breakfast (bring it to him in bed, of course).

(This is where it gets good .)

He liked "hot" chili, so I would keep a can around and he liked fried eggs on it. So on these mornings (only did it 2-3 times, I think) after he had been really bad, I would turn on the frying pan and throw in "some" oil, would heat up the "hot" chili. Put in some toast, etc. Then would fry him 2-3 eggs, over-easy was the way he wanted them. Then would put some of the chili in a bowl and then put the eggs on top -- "oopsie, spilled some oil on the chili," "oh darn, spilled some more oil in the chili." Oh well, just stir it in, he won't notice it noway laugh. Then put the eggs on top. Butter his toast with LOTS of butter and pour him a BIG glass of milk. Then I would take him his "breakfast in bed."

It would take maybe 10-15 minutes before I would hear his feet hit the floor as he would go running for the bathroom scared shocked surprised tongue2. Then he would be moaning and groaning on his way back to bed.

Once I controlled my "giggling" I would ask him what was wrong. He would yell back that he "got sick." "Oh, sorry, do you want me to make you some more breakfast??" I would ask. "NO!!!" was always his answer.slaphead surprised rofl rofl rofl rofl

Hmmmmmm, just desserts I would say. tongue2

So often we see parents and their generation very differently than who they truly were. We see Uncle, Aunt, Older Cousin.

Other people knew them as lovers, friends, close confidants, as connections to events that time has forgotten, to stories that rival the best fiction has yet to offer.

Read them, see your Aunt through different eyes.
You'll see yourself differently too.

I am going to make some special quiet time to sit down and read them. Have been putting it off.

Thank you all for your input.

My Dad and Mum died within 3 months of each other....and when my brother and I packed up their life, we found all the letters my dad wrote to my mum, when he was posted in Japan during world war 2 and they were still courting.

I also found the wedding invitation my dad sent to my mum...for their wedding.

I never knew my folks were romantic....that at some time in their lives they had been gentle open hearted romantics....it was an insight into the young people they were.

And soothed many of my own hurts, through reading them.

Your dad sounded like a special man, and very romantic, what an insight into your parents' early lives and so special.

Stress Busters

Pray daily. It will get easier with practice.

Use a calendar and a journal to keep up the details of a hectic life.

Make a worry list and spend an hour a week, or if you must an hour a day thinking through your concerns and brain storming solutions then spend another hour actually resolveing what you can then put it out of your mind.

Eat breakfast every day. Juice, protein, wholegrain, and milk. Skip the Caffine. Streach and exercise if you need to jump start your energy.

Carry a water bottle and fill it twice daily. Dehydration contributes to muscle fatigue, spasams, headaches, and poor digestion which all contribute to stress.

Take a generic multi-vitamin and skip all the vitamin energy drinks. They can cause serious health issues. Many have basiclly over the counter amphetimines.

Study in the morning when your brain is more absorbent.

Spend time with a friend or mentor each day or at least several times a week. In the bar does NOT count. On line friends are great but they can not replace in person contact. I am not talking about co-workers or the cashier at the store.

Do not work yourself to the ground to support a vehical. Get a bike or a bus pass and park the vehical as much as possible; or trade in what you have for a cheaper vehical.

Find a house share situation while you are in school. Could be that you could do better in and on campus school as a dorm advisor. Or a house parent for a group home. As a pair of strong hands for a senior.

Do not assume that the only way you can increase income as a student is working. Go on line and apply for scholarships. Check in and see if while you have limited means if you qualify for discounts or rebates. You are probably qualified for $350 Renter's rebate for one. I could suggest others. If you are a VET there are a lot of resources there.

Go to bed before you are exhausted. If you get too tired you will not rest well. You get really tense and put your arms over your head (not uncommon for Vets or people who are sleeping in noisey areas) which will give you chest spasams. If you have a poor rest schedule you may have to train yourself to go to sleep. Relaxation techniques and routines and cleaning up your sleep environment can help a lot.

Last but not least Put this all in a frame. You can either be young and stressed and poor for a few short years while you are in school or you can live your whole life that way and be old and stressed and poor.

Hope some of these work for you. Hugs!

I really do try to have a normal sleep pattern. I try to sleep from 930pm to 530am, but every once in a while something unexpected happens that causes me to stay up later than I want. As for the living situation, I live with some friends of mine whom I've known for a decade now, and while things cause small arguments from time to time we get along great. I do need to work on the caffeine problem, though. The first thing I do in the morning when I wake up is open up something full of caffeine, and yes, I should really invest in multi-vitamins. I actually hadn't put too much thought into the theory that my mental stress and fatigue could cause my physical problems. I will definately have to look into that more and see if vitamins or losing the caffeine helps that. Thanks for all the advice!

Caffeine gnaws on your stomach lining and can increase your stomach acid which can then "reflux" back into your esophagus -- this can cause chest pain also. Smoking is also bad for stomach issues, and alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen are big "no-no's" if you have any stomach trouble.

I am currently working 1-1/2 jobs, sometimes a 3rd part-time job for a few weeks at a time. I am doing this out of necessity, problems with my house, etc. Want to cut back to normal hours eventually, I just try to keep telling myself that someday I will cut back to normal hours. I do take vitamins also.

She was my favorite aunt, I always fantasized about running away to live with her (wanted to be an only child). She was awesome and her "adopted" family she married into is awesome too, she was so lucky to have them in her life and they were lucky to have her too.

Guess I will "muster up" the courage and read the letters. Was just a little uncomfortable about them.

Thank you all for your input. flowerforyou

I am a dog person, had the most incredible 3/4 dalmation 1/4 lab, I swear she thought she was human. Was my best friend, my protector, she understood when I talked to her, and even ate like a human, would eat broccoli and brussels sprouts, tomatoes, pretty much anything. Wish I could find another one like her. sad sad

Cats are okay, but much prefer dogs.

Oh, and love whales too. Am going on a whale watching tour next weekend to watch the orcas -- whoo hoo!!!!! happy happy
