I know that you will think this is a dumb question and it is simple to do but not for me. Here goes, I would like to know how to download music off of the commputer ,there are alots of old songs that I would like to have on a disc. I know how to put music on the computer from a c.d. then put it over to a blank disc[rip and burn].This I can do. Also I would like to be able to download pictures. Would you please explain it to me in simple words? I can see you shaking your head and saying what a dummy, you are right. My 9 yrs old granddaughter knows more than I do. Thanks for any help.

If you want to download music...I suggest doing it the legal way...or uh...you could you know..."ARGH!" But then you risk getting caught by your ISP or getting tracked by the government.

If you want to download images to your computer, just right click on the image and click "save as"....voila!

Also do a google search for "free music" or "free mp3s" there are all kinds of sites you can download from. check here:

Most definitely it is...I think it's a bit different than other MMO's...I played a bit of the beta and it was fun. They did an awesome job on the character creation.

wow, thats alot. lol. I've never delt with SMF forum before, but you can still modify the htaccess file to prevent spam-bots, password protection, and other security features. I'm sure if you google "htaccess spam prevention" or "smf htaccess security" you might be able to find some good advice. Unless someone here on the forum knows ALOT about SMF Specifically?

Or, wait till your forum starts getting members..I haven't personally seen alot of forums that get spam; but wait till they show up and see what happens. Then from their block their IP address.

Mmm...Well you can also add a line of code to the Htaccess file to help prevent server overload. I have been using wordpress for awhile with many plugins and my site was being throttled because of all the scripts trying to load...But just by adding some code to the htaccess and optimizing the php database the throttling quickly slowed down.

Ok - quick question..what are you using for your site that you want spam protection for?

Like someone else mentioned the motherboard....that does sound feasible. My other computer had to have the motherboard replaced because the cylinder cones on it opened up and leaked the acid that's inside. Once exposed they begin to rust...

And the computer completely freezing sounds very suspicious of that. My computer did the same thing, for a couple months as a matter of fact. I thought it was the graphics card, then I thought it was the mouse, then when the computer wouldn't boot up anymore took it into a computer shop and it ended up being the motherboard.

You said that the fan was running...you should have more than 1 fan in your computer.

1. power supply fan
2. cpu fan
3. video card fan

Those are all pretty easy to find, so check all of them and make sure the fans are running when your power on the computer. Because those symptoms also sound like it's overheating and possibly corrupting the system.

Thats what sucks about computers....You can have several problems with just one symptom.

And don't call geek squad..they are over priced and not to mention i'm sure you can hire someone who will come to your house and take a look at it for you for half the price. Then you just go to newegg.com to order the part you need for the computer.

hope this helps.

What did you do?

I know you can put some code into the .htaccess file that is on your Public_html folder to help prevent spam.

A real artist or anyone that appreciates art wouldn't take time out of their day to say it looks bad. They are only "passing judgment" and if you asked them to find good in the image, you would hear only bad. They are not open-minded and cannot find the beauty in that particular piece of work. Everyone is an artist in some way....I have been to an art show a few years ago as well and never did I hear anyone talk like that. Although, it was more of a "gallery" for a painter, but he had his reasons for why he did his work the way he did.

If anyone should say something about a piece they should at least "critique" it.

exactly

I got those from a tech rep when I was watching Sunday Night Football and wasnt getting the streaming good enough and complained to NBC about it

Can it vary by computer ... cause I am definately am paying about $10-15 more than what I am getting. (and on the att website of course it says 'up to'. And I am on a wireless router, does that effect speed?

Unless your ethernet adapater is set below 100mbps then you might not get all of the bandwith to use. You should find out what ethernet adapter you have by going into your "devices" in your computer....Mine is 100mbps, which is actually pretty standard.

But - it also does depend on how many people are online. If there is alot then yes, your internet will slow down.

For those of you that don't know..Net neutrality is a way to keep the internet available for all people, without worries that your ISP provider will cut youtube, microsoft, yahoo or even google from your computer. (including several other websites)

Comcast has been in a never ending battle in court against the FCC and individuals for violating the net neutrality rules and well. the FCC has made it official, they will regulate Net Neutrality and all ISP providers cannot and will not cut any website, nor will they limit your bandwidth if you visit say google vs. Microsoft bing.

I haven't read anything about this yet being included in the Net Neutrality Rules...but as far as I know your ISP provider can limit your bandwidth (downloading) of Torrents through bit torrent or utorrent(or another torrent provider) by allowing no more than 24kbps...if you see that when downloading anything on torrent, chances are you're being limited. But since FCC announced Net neutrality lives on, then I am thinking an ISP can no longer control torrent bandwidth.

What do you guys and gals think?

Never ever call an ex, that just leads to trouble. And if he calls you, tell him to go away.

thanks for reply doubt its power upgraded it few years back and not added any hardware since
could be dust or software im thinking

Ok #1 there is absolutely no guarantee that your power supply will last a few years. It can be dead the moment you get it. The same follows for any other hardware you get. Software will not cause the computer to go into standby like that. That's hardware related.

when i shut down my desktop and leave it for a while it wont reboot every time i try switch it on power button is on a standby mode
only way i found to round this is to unplug the power leave it for a day or so then switch on
and my powersave modes are on never all options

I had the same problem with my old desktop - that turned out to be a power supply problem. There isn't enough power going from the supply to the motherboard that boots the computer. So perhaps when your computer sits for a day without energy being used by the power then you are able to turn it on....it could be over heating your motherboard or hardware, causing the computer to also go into stand by mode instead of booting.
