when i shut down my desktop and leave it for a while it wont reboot every time i try switch it on power button is on a standby mode
only way i found to round this is to unplug the power leave it for a day or so then switch on
and my powersave modes are on never all options

I had the same problem with my old desktop - that turned out to be a power supply problem. There isn't enough power going from the supply to the motherboard that boots the computer. So perhaps when your computer sits for a day without energy being used by the power then you are able to turn it on....it could be over heating your motherboard or hardware, causing the computer to also go into stand by mode instead of booting.

thanks for reply doubt its power upgraded it few years back and not added any hardware since
could be dust or software im thinking

Ok #1 there is absolutely no guarantee that your power supply will last a few years. It can be dead the moment you get it. The same follows for any other hardware you get. Software will not cause the computer to go into standby like that. That's hardware related.
