I've never heard that BR, but I can tell you that it's not true. Last year was Bulger's first under a coach other than Martz and even with a new system and terminology he managed to have his best season yet. With a year in the system, a couple of new weapons in Bennett and McMichael; and with Jackson (who caught 90 passes and out gained L.T. in total yardage), Holt, and Bruce (both of whom are likely H.O.Fers) returning he'll be keying a pretty damn good offense. If the "D" can keep people under 21 points a game we'll win a lot of games.

Agreed Ugly, I heard that same old stuff from every Seahags fan and it's getting really old. As a Mizzou fan I can tell you about my team getting truly and royally screwed. Try looking on Utube for a clip of the "Fifth down" game against Colorado or maybe the kicked ball against Nebraska (corn shucker jack offs!) in '97. I still keep hoping for karma to even things out but unless I see "Nebraska received NCAA death penalty" I doubt it'll happen.mad

Miles, who elects those same congressmen or senators? I do or you do (assuming you vote, but since only 30% of Americans vote that's a poor assumption) we elect them to pass laws according to what the majority wants. If you don't vote I don't want to listen to your whining, and if you are one of the numbnuts who parade around saying "Our votes don't count, so I don't bother voting." I REALLY don't want to listen to you.

Remember folks, if you don't participate you have no one to blame but yourself.

adj4u my olfactory senses detect the presence of male bovine waste in the case of rambill and his rant otherwise it would have been HUGE news and we wouldn't even have to question him for details (which to this point have been vague). To his way of thinking we should dismantle to entire law enforcement community since it obviously doesn't work *rolls eyes*. Hey, while we're at it we should just do away with the fire departments to because they can't save every life at every fire or the DOT for individual states since they can't have the roads clear in winter every second of every day. One last thing, the word is indefensible not "undefendable". I won't even comment on the ridiculous L.A. riots statement... whoops too late.

Any time I hear people starting in about how "All the cops I know are crooked." I immediately think two things. 1) They don't know any personally or the ones they do know they knew twenty years ago and they ASSUME they know what they're like today and 2) they're full of $hit. While I can't defend every cop in the USA I'll be willing to put money down that 99.99% of them are honest, hard-working individuals who're doing a job that they know makes people look at them as an "enemy" when in fact they are protectors. These men and women are only enforcing the laws that we (the people) put in place and to say that because of the actions of one or two cops "all" are corrupt is as stupid as saying that because one black man commits a crime that they must all be criminals.

Hearing people bash cops pushes one of the few "buttons" I have since so many of my family and friends are in law enforcement- including a grandfather (Illinois State Trooper) that I never got to meet because of an incident very much like the one decribed above.

His main value (at least for the next year or two) will be as a returner and not a receiver. I didn't understand this pick when the 'Phins made it and I still don't, they had to damn many weaknesses to end up picking a player that won't help them much for at least two years. I think he will be a good player though not a great one and while he won't be the fastest player all the time, he will be a lot of the time.

Of course he will, some brain-damaged GM will decide he's worth a pick-up and give him another big contract and he'll blow that too.

The number of chances these guys get makes me more than a little ill. If they test positive for illegal drugs they get rehab. Get caught again? Sit out 4 games. Caught again? Now you can't play for a year, granted no pay but when you have a 10 million dollar signing bonus you're not hurting to pay your electric bill. On the other hand if I test positive for illegal drugs I'm out of work no questions asked.

Princess, try Play It Again sports (I think they're a national chain) or
you could try posting and checking on Craigslist for equipment. Buy
your sticks new though, they can get a little "whippy" after a season or
so, esp if they're aluminum or the new composite ones.

No quite Runningon, not quite. At least our "D" will be better this
year (it can't get worse anyhow) and we play in a weak division.

I was at the draft on Friday (and Saturday) and while I still think that
Columbus is a college football town there ARE a group of supporters that
have been here since day one (and it'll get bigger the minute the
'Jackets show some playoff life). Speaking of which, why the ****
didn't Cols take a D-man with their first-rounder, I wanted Voracek for
my Blues.sad

I think that one thing that people are overlooking is that (at least
in the case of pro sports) this is their JOB. This is what they do for
a living, and they are no more likely to allow their sexual orientation
to endanger their ability to earn a living than you or I am. They might
be gay but I expect that they would have a certain level of
professionalism about themselves.

You know what's funny? People who cry to anyone who'll listen about
how the "Man" or the "System" or my favorite "The Goverment"(as if those
were their names) is robbing us of our freedoms and suppressing the
"Truth" about everything from what's in your Oreos to what happened on
9/11 and THEN when an opposite view is offered they say that you want to
believe whatever you're told or that *ahem* "You gotta love people that
live life wearing blinders." Why is their viewpoint less valid than
your's? Because you don't agree with it? Congratulations, you and
POTUS belong to the same club. Better yet, you, POTUS, AND Osama Bin
Laden belong to the same club since it would seem that none of you
believe any viewpoint is valid except your's.

Personally I think that 9/11 was the work of terrorists. Am I saying
I know what happened that day? Nope, and anyone who says they know is
full it. As Fanta said earlier, you're asking thousands of people to
keep a secret that could wreck our country destroying everything we
stand for and making us more despicable than our worst enemies. Think
about that, most people can't keep a secret any longer than it takes
them to find someone to tell said secret. That isn't my point though,
my point is that even if you don't agree with someone you should at
LEAST listen to them on the off-chance they know something that *gasp*
you don't.

I'll take the international soccer anyday! You know why? The players
at that level are the best (it goes without saying they're "world-class"
but I'm saying it anyway); the HS basketball not so much, you might see
a player or two who're good enough to play NCAA 1-A but you'll see a lot
more players who make you wonder if they even understand the rules of
the game.

College- Mizzou Tigers- Mostly because everyone else in my family is an
Illinois fan and I'm a bit of a contrarian. But I'm fully vested now,
17 years and counting more heartbreaking losses than you can imagine.

NFL- St. Louis Rams- When I started watching football the Cardinals
(still in St. Louis at the time) were so God awful that I started
watching the Rams with my uncles. When they moved to St. Louis it was
just the icing on the cake.

NHL- St. Louis Blues- I didn't "discover" hockey until I was about 13
and the reasons? Three words. Hull and Oates.

MLB- St. Louis Cardinals- C'mon, I'm from St. Louis, what'd you expect,
a Cubs fan?huh

I also love the EPL but no real "team" there though I do find myself
watching the Newcastle United games pretty closely.

The few times I've used IM it's been iffy. Instead of a bell or
something to get your attention it pops up in a little box at the bottom
of your screen (on mine anyhow) and you either don't notice it until you
navigate away from JSH or you close it out thinking it's a pop up. Also
it could tell you if the person has chosen not to accept your IM instead
of just leaving you wondering if they even got it. Truthfully I think
I'd rather have chatrooms instead of IMs as they are now.

This is horse****! Like Nomadic asked, don't they have a hospital?
Or maybe instead of jail, have her picking up trash on the side of the
road? Something, anything, I'm tired of people "working" our justice
system and coming out with little more than a slap on the wrist.mad

weren't.

There was a show on the History Channel about the JFK assasination and
how a lot of the information surrounding the shooting was incorrect.
Examples of incorrect info would be the seating arrangment of JFK and
Gov. Connelly were seated (Connelly was seated toward the middle and
above normal seating height explaining the "magic bullet"'s path) and
the shots were makeable with ease (the demo used the same model
rifle/distance/size target- the domonstartor was also an ex-marine).
All in all compeling stuff. The one thing conspiracies all have in
common is that they require huge numbers of people to remain quiet
indefinately, and most people can't keep a secret longer than it takes
to find someone to tell.
