i know of alot of lazy teenagers that wont get off their ass to save

Anyone who crosses the American borders ILLEGALLY is knowingly breaking
the law. What does that say?? They are destroying our country AND our
economy. JMO!!!

I perform "illegal" activities on or almost on a daily basis, so I dont
feel I have a right judging others for crossing an imaginary line so
they can feed thier familys and perhaps give thier kids a better
oppertunity then they had. How many of you wouldnt do the same?

opinion.

As for the quote, 'dead on'!!! It evokes the very foundation of all
free countries.

If the tables were turned, an American would do exactly the same thing,

I guess my reply is this: I have been to Mexico and have seen the way
they had to live! (I think you know what I am going to say now) If I was
from Mexico, I would do whatever I could to get away from there and work
in America and send money back to feed my children!! I am not going to
gripe at all about them working here and sending money back to support
their children..sorry can't do it

I never understood the hatred for foreigners - especially since this
country was founded by immigrants!

You can't blame someone for trying to make a living. The only ones to
blame is the companies that knowling hire illegal immigrants. These
companies are doing an injust to US Citizens and those who legally are
allowed to work here, but they are also doing an injust to the illegal
immigrants as well.

I think that it is important to remember that regardless if you are an
US Citizent, legal resident and/or have a work permit, or illegal
immigrant, that we are all human and we should all have compassion for
one another.

being an american who worked hard all my life im so sick of people
saying that americans are lazy . i know we work hard if you dont like

were defending the United States of America as one people. When we
liberated France , no one in those villages were looking for the
French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people
of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented
one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about
picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they
were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed
so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an
American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue
bowl.

And here we are in 2006 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same
rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a
different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a
guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's
not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants
who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that
for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations
to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it
happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration

Prejudice remarks are for the ignorant who have no further arguments on
the subject. I have many Mexican American friends. I graduated HS in
Southern N Mex.. These ppl, (friends), are citizen, and are just as
concerned with illegal immigration as I am. Grow up read, and educate
