Lex! What is the point of those threads?? I have seen them, they go on for pages of people saying hi. I mean, I know this is Just Say Hi, and maybe they are taking that a tad too literally. Perhaps we should let them know that two-syllable words are OK.

And there are some threads I have seen where people don't say much of anything but they use lots of vowels and emoticons and take up space.

Are people really that vapid?

Yes. Yes, unfortunately, in my experience, they are....

Yeah, I saw your thread on this one.

This guy is a needy black hole with no self-esteem. He's looking for worth outside himself, trying to find someone to pay attention to him thinking THAT will make him worthy OF the attention. He's got it all backwards.

When you "rejected" him he took it as a rejection of who he is as a person. Just one more piece of evidence of his uselessness or unattractiveness.

He's fighting THAT message in his head. So all that anger comes from his guilt and shame at the person he sees himself to be.

Feel sorry for the guy and move on. He needs serious help before he's ready for any kind of relationship.

Hmmm AD - you seem intimately familiar with the inside of this guy's head.....

His explanation seems pretty fair to me.... All kidding aside.....this thread is frigging hilarious..... I might have to lurk on some other site to find some myself.....

I wasn't quite that far gone, but yes, I'm too familiar with that way of thinking.

I wasn't raised by Ward and June Cleaver. I had some pretty screwed up ideas about myself and the world that took work to overcome.

One think I've learned though - we all make and live with our own choices.

And I've discovered through personal experience no one listens when you point out Neanderthals or jackasses.
