wow... how did this topic get out of hand? Ok, im not attacking anyone here. I question why we originally invaded Iraq. What do you guys think would happen if we just pulled out right now? Honestly though. And once again, i know pretty much everyone here supports the troops... I guess im just trying to get people to think ahead a little more. Thinking ahead may have prevented this whole war.

I did not dismiss your experiences because they didn't fit what I wanted you to say. I dismissed them because I found it fairly incredible that one could see someone walking down the street and know their political and ideological beliefs. In fact, when asking about how you knew...how could I have been "wanting" to hear anything specific at all? It's an open ended question to which no one but you has an answer...I couldn't have been thinking of a particular answer that I believed in. By necessity. |

...Former Marine and Gulf War vet I support our troups, I don't support a fruitless war that put our troups in harms way for no good reason. This country dosnt have the stomache for war anymore...Have we been attacked on our soil since 9-11?..Do you think its a coincidence or do you think its because our troops have crippled al Quada s efforts to inflict terror? Typical liberal BS..All show , no go.. Easy to be critical from outside the fence ..I respect your opinion though
We have not got attacked again because of the increase in our homeland security, not up to par yet but it is better than pre 9/11. How do you think that us being over there stops attacks here??? It don't. Iraq was not the homeland for terrorists, although the snow job you got from shrub would make you think that, it is not true. The terrorist who did 9/11 were not from Iraq, bin laden was not and will not be in Iraq, Saddam has not attacked us on our soil, etc.... SO THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING IN IRAQ??? WMD??? I'm trying very hard not to fuel the fire here, but there are some who confuse "having a different opinion" with "closed mindedness"...and as a result have become very rude and defensive. But enough of that. I'm a democrat (hardly a bleeding heart liberal though), but I believe that pulling out of Iraq right now would be disastrous. I'm not sure if we'll ever be able to instill a completely solid and safe government there, but we can't just give up now with the country in shambles. Not exactly sure how to implement a proper plan of development for the country, but I think a continued military presence is definitely required. Just would be nice if any other country in the world would pull their weight too...

Invasion was needed...if not at the time it happened it would have happened at a later date..it was inevitable.. to pull out now they terrorists would be available for targets around the world. The terrorists would be viewing the pull out as a victory as they would have if Bush chose not to invade and brought the troops back from Kuwait. The terrorists would use the occasion to inspire more terrorists since they defeated the Us. |
